It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Harry Fontaine on September 21, 2012. Survived by his loving wife, Ann, of 35 years; three stepchildren, FONTAINE Karen (Rowland), Ken, Barb (Gord), and many family and friends. Harry served in the Royal Canadian Naval Reserve marine section, Air Sea Rescue, also the Canadian Merchant Navy and the U.S. Merchant Marines. I would like to thank Dr. R. Bull for 20 years of care, also Dr. S. Cambridge for Harry’s final year and all the nursing staff on the third floor of the Chilliwack Hospital. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Harry’s favorite charity, the Canadian Wildlife Federation or a charity of your choice. KINGSTON Rosalie Cecilia ‘Noel’

ON, Whitehorse, YT, Surrey and Chilliwack, BC. She held positions in Chilliwack at the Ministry of Highways, Court Registry, Government Agency and Ministry of Health. She enjoyed baking, (apple pies, cakes, cookies, and blackberry jelly, which were some of her specialties), reading, playing bingo and trips to Reno. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, the 29th of September, 2012, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, in Chilliwack BC. Private interment will follow at a later date.

Dec. 24, 1929 - Sept 21, 2012 (nee Campbell) It is with sadness that we advise of the passing of Rosalie Cecilia Noel King–ston, in KINGSTON Chilliwack, on Friday, September 21, 2012. Noel is lovingly remembered and missed by her husband of 63 years, Louis Daniel (Danny) Kingston, with sons: Gerald (Trudy) and Drew (Lynn); and grandchildren: Jeremy Kingston, Jocelyn (Daryl) Thomas, Tamara (Devin) O‘Brien and Jared Kingston; and great-grandchildren: Anika and Nolan Thomas. Noel was predeceased by her son, Douglas Kingston, in 1986. Noel was the fourth child of the 13 children born to Henry (Harry) and Mary (Edna) Campbell, in New Westminster, BC, and raised in Chilliwack. She married Danny on August 2, 1949, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Chilliwack. She is survived by her sisters: Grace Smith, Lily Murphy, Annabell (Fred) Schunter and Kay (Vern) Frizzell; and brothers: Bruce (Susan) Campbell, Gerald (Barb) Campbell, Stephen (Anne) Campbell, Thomas (Shirley) Campbell, and Phillip (Elaine) Campbell and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by Frances Costoff, Lawrence Campbell and Marie Burke. Noel lived and worked in various locations across Canada; including Gage– town, New Brunswick, Toronto and Camp Borden,

LINTICK Cameron Roderick

Cameron Roderick Lin– tick passed away on Thursday September 6, 2012 at the Cascade Hospice in Chilliwack at the age of 81 after a courageous and dignified battle with cancer. He is survived by his son Dale and his wife Shirley of Brandon, Manitoba. He has one surviving sister Donna (Raymond) Winters of Dauphin, Manitoba, and numerous nieces and nephews. Dad is also survived by his loving and giving companion of 10 years, Marge Borthwick, and her daughter Sharon Stelmaschuk who was like a daughter to him. He was blessed to have some very special friends in his life: Don and Linda Wise, Korine (Mert) Janveaux, his buddies at the Chillbowl and the great neighbours of Cottonwood Village Gate One. MATYAS William Anton

June 22, 1918 - Sept. 23, 2012 W i t h thanksgiving to God, who gave us life upon this beautiful earth, the works of His hand and through Jesus, His only begotten Son, our redeemer, MATYAS our saviour, our salvation, we enter into eternal life. Safe in the arms of Jesus, who receives us and takes us to God our Heavenly Father, and our loved ones God has called before. Our beloved, William Anton Matyas, truly loved, we are blessed with a loving husband and dad clasped in the arms of our Gary, God called April 28, 1970. Born to Frank and Mary Matyas of Lemberg, SK, loving son, loving brother to Joe, Jeff, August, (my Bill) Tom, Frank and Roy. William’s dad’s life was taken in a mine in West Virginia, resting at “Nanty Glow�. His mom raised seven little boys, six were in uniform during WWII. Frank’s life was taken June 9, 1944, serving with the Regina Rifles, now resting Canadian War Cemetery, Bery-SurMer, Caen, France, Piat Gun Carrier. My Bill was on the front lines through to Holland with the Royal Canadian Engineers, was wounded, applied shell dressing to a comrade also using his own,

while being wounded himself. He stood guard with his brenn gun at a forest, either the “Black Forestâ€? or “Hochwaldâ€? while the comrades returned to camp for breakfast. A soldier of the opposing side came out of the forest with arms raised, stating the rest of his troop left. William took the soldier in as prisoner stating to the two comrades to keep watch. Upon William’s return, one comrades life was taken, the other taken as a prisoner, all three being in their very early 20’s. Bill’s mother was “called by Godâ€? while Bill and Frank were to begin action, Frank stating “if anything happened to either one of us mother will never have to knowâ€?. War ended and William returned... we met‌ what a blessing‌ married in 1948‌ were blessed with two little sons. Early 1952, Bill got his orders for Korea, sailing out from Seattle, Easter Sunday. The Lord kept watch and my Bill returned, April 29, 1953. We returned to Chilliwack and the Royal Canadian School Military Engineering (RCSME) Vedder Crossing In 1959, William got posted to Picton, ON to Regina, SK, July 1964 and back to Chilliwack, 1968 He joined the BC Corp of Commissionaires retiring in 1988 after 19 years service, the military 30 years. We thank God and Jesus, Our Saviour, for the length of days, love and happiness fulfilled. Terry and I wait to join our loved ones and now Arlene also who joined our family. Jacqueline Eleanor Mary Toop (nee Bakx) was born in Kitimat, BC on May 22, 1956 TOOP and passed away suddenly and unexpectantly on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 in Vancouver, BC at the age of 56. Jackie was a woman who lit up every room she entered. She made it a point to fill everyone’s day with joy, and she let every member of her family know how much she loved each of them. To say that she will be missed is an understatement; our lives without her will never be the same. Jackie leaves behind her devoted husband of 33 years, Richard; children: An-

WILLIAMS Osborne Watkin

Osborne Williams passed away peacefully on September 18, 2012 at Chilliwack at WILLIAMS the age of 90 years. He was born April 28, 1922 in Vancouver BC. Oz’s first job was working on steamships plying the coasts, Vancouver to the Queen Charlottes. Serving in WWII, 1939-1945, he was first in the Army, then the Airforce. He then sailed the southern seas on freighters as a cook and checker/assistant of supercargo. Oz sold real estate in Vancouver for a few years in the 1960’s. He married the love of his life, Marion Adkins in 1966. For several years Oz was employed by Rayonier of Canada (Western Forest Products) and was responsible for selection/placement of the freight for the deep sea ships. Retiring in 1981, he continued to enjoy his interest in golfing, curling, and gardening. He loved to ride his horse and walk his dog. For the past several years Oz and Marion settled in Chilliwack, and attended Chilliwack Baptist Church. Always a special place in his heart was his wife Marion, his family, and friends. Special thanks to Dr. Marc MacKenzie and each one who have cared for Oz during his illness. He is survived by his loving wife Marion, twins Yvette Williams and Allan Williams, and daughter Gail Risieg as well as grand– children.
