Peter Hilton Crozier ‘Pete the Plumber’ 1936 - 2012
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Pete on June 22, after a brief illness. Pete was born in Port Alberni on January 13, 1936 and was the ďŹ rst grandchild of pioneer doctor, C.T. Hilton. He worked at Alpulp for many years prior to moving to Qualicum where he set up his own plumbing business. He was a member of the Qualicum Beach Fire Department, serving in many capacities over a 31 year period. Pete was predeceased by his parents, Betty and Pete Crozier, aunts, Freda and Jean Hilton and uncle Dick Hilton. He will be sadly missed by his extended family, Laurie and Ty Jordan, and is also survived by 4 children, 13 grandchildren, 1 sister, Liz Geiger, an aunt, and 2 nephews. Grateful appreciation to Deanna and Kerry Owen, Jenny Yacoboski and Pete’s man friends at Deez Bar and Grill, and the Coffee Boys from Gary’s Bistro for their love and support over the years. Thanks also to Brian, Jim and his truck, the Town Crew, QB ďŹ remen and many great friends for their help at Pete’s, and to the Nanaimo Palliative Care staff. No funeral by request. Please, no owers, but if desired, donations may be made to the Cancer Society. There will be a ‘Farewell’ celebration for Pete’s friends at Deez Bar & Grill, 3353 Island Hwy W., Qualicum Beach on Saturday June 30th, 1:00 - 3:30 pm. Eger Jensen
On the evening of June 19th/ 2012, at home with his family as he had wished, Eger Jensen quietly passed away. He was fortunate to have remained active throughout his 89 years. Although he rarely spoke about it, Eger fought to defend the values of freedom and Democracy in WW11. He saw duty in England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany, distinguishing himself at the battle of Arnhem. He was awarded 5 medals for his efforts and never forgot those with whom he served. A skilled outdoorsman he spent many happy years hunting in the rugged Elk valley and he was also a keen sportsďŹ sherman. He was a great skier and remained an avid golfer until the end. As a pilot he was at one time President of the Trail ying club. A long time member of the Search and Recue he could always be counted on to lend a helping hand. After retirement he and his beloved wife spent the next 35 years travelling the world. He was a great good friend to many, a devoted husband and a wonderful involved parent who gave his children an exciting childhood full of adventures. Indeed he was a true Mountain of a Man and is deeply missed. He leaves behind his loving wife of 62 years Maria, his adoring sister Jean Gresely-Jones, and son Ralph, and daughter Irene, and granddaughter Muna, along with numerous nephews and nieces. He is also mourned by many loving relatives in Norway. We would like to express our gratitude to the Qualicum Medical Centre and the lovely ladies of the Oceanside Hospice Society, Lynn, Jean, Heather, Nicole and Michelle. To all who reached out personally to help Eger over and therefore touched our hearts we thank you for your kindness. You know who you are.
