The Hometown Run in Port Coquitlam is the Tri-Cities’ biggest Terry Fox Run but its smallest — in the village of Anmore — is in need of a leader or it may not, er, run.

Leader needed for Anmore’s Fox Run

The Terry Fox Run in Anmore is still without an organizer for this year’s charity event. And Donna White of the BC/Yukon Terry Fox Foundation says if a leader isn’t found soon, the run may have to be cancelled. Last month, the Port Coquitlam-based foun-

dation, named after the hometown hero, issued an appeal for someone to step forward to head the run in the village. This year’s run will be held on Sunday, Sept. 16 and, in Anmore, it typically sees about 100 participants (there are also Terry Fox Runs in PoCo, Coquitlam and

Port Moody). Anyone interested in helping can contact White at 1-888-836-9786 or email bcyukon@terryfoxrun.org. For more information about the Terry Fox Run, which raises millions of dollars a year for cancer research, visit www.terryfox.org.
