THE THINGS-TO-DO GUIDE: Music, theatre and lots of kilts

FILE PHOTOS/THE TRI-CITY NEWS

Let’s face it — with bagpipes, whiskey, golf and anything involving Ewan McGregor, the Scottish are just plain awesome. Join the fun and become Scottish, if only for a day, at the BC Highland Games, running Saturday at Percy Perry Stadium (Town Centre Park) in Coquitlam. There will be music (Celtic fare and world-class pipe bands, naturally) and dancing to go along with it, very large men in kilts throwing very heavy objects, as well as a car show and activities just for the kids (and a wee dram of whiskey, just for the big kids). Tickets at the gate are $15/$10/$5. Check www.bchighlandgames.com for more details.
