Guten Tag! Welcome to the 2015 Oldstoberfest sponsorship package. Oldstoberfest is a new event/attraction to Olds, Alberta, Canada. The event will be held annually on the third weekend in September. Oldtoberfest will be unique, merging Bavarian culture with our western prairie heritage. Targeting promotional markets throughout Central Alberta, Western Canada, and North America, our goals are to maximize economical impact, increase community engagement, and showcase the Town of Olds and Mountain View County. As we are an emerging festival, sponsorship is crucial to ensure success. We hope to welcome you to the Oldstoberfest family as one of the pioneers of this soon to be historical event.
Our Story In 2014, Olds College and the Pomeroy Inn & Suites held a small Oktoberfest Celebration. They called it: Oldstoberfest! The Bavarian themed event provided an opportunity to showcase the Olds College Hospitality and Tourism program, the Olds College Brewery, the National Meat Training Centre, and the rest of what the Olds College community has to offer. At the event, Olds College President, Dr. H.J. (Tom) Thompson announced the next phase of Oldstoberfest would be to expand to a destination event, bringing countless opportunities to the Olds and Mountain View County area. The Community of Olds is renowned for being an agricultural hub. With the largest agricultural college in Alberta, and the Olds Regional Exhibition grounds hosting many key organizations in our agricultural industry, you can be sure there is always something happening in the town that aligns with our western culture. Oldstoberfest 2015 will not only bring a celebration of Bavarian culture, concerts, and community activities, but also that western piece that resembles Olds. Oldstoberfest will host a professional rodeo at the Olds Regional Exhibition grounds. Since 2009, the community has not hosted a professional rodeo. The combination of concerts, a Hofbrauhaus, and a Bavarian themed rodeo in the middle of the prairies has never been done. Oldstoberfest is intended to be an opportunity for the community to prosper and come together in making history.
