Grade 1

First grade. Your child has already taken the first steps into a wide world of learning, and you get a front-row seat to the wonder and excitement. This year, your child will start gathering the foundational skills needed for phonics, reading, math, and scientific inquiry. These abilities will solidify your child’s learning foundation and give thoughtful preparation for future learning. Your student will also learn valuable Bible Truths and begin using those Truths to form a personal biblical worldview. Heritage studies will also explore the realms of family, community, jobs, land, and countries.

Your child’s courses will captivate and delight with colorful stories, thoughtful discussions, and simple, optional tests. Hands-on activities, available throughout each course, will keep learning fun and help your child connect learning to play. Essential questions throughout each course will help you monitor your child’s progress and how you can best nurture successful learning.

Grade Kits

Our homeschool courses come in a variety of formats that enable you to choose the approach that works best for your family. Your students can watch our recorded video lessons online, or you can lead the class instruction at your own pace. Many of our printed materials are also available electronically depending on the grade. For grade 1, our textbooks are also available digitally.
