BELLE is inspired by the true story of Dido Elizabeth Belle (Gugu Mbatha-Raw), the illegitimate mixed race daughter of Admiral Sir John Lindsay (Matthew Goode). Raised by her aristocratic great-uncle Lord Mansfield (Tom Wilkinson) and his wife (Emily Watson), Belle's lineage affords her certain privileges, yet her status prevents her from the traditions of noble social standing. While her cousin Elizabeth (Sarah Gadon) chases suitors for marriage, Belle is left on the sidelines wondering if she will ever find love. After meeting an idealistic young vicar's son bent on changing society, he and Belle help shape Lord Mansfield's role as Lord Chief Justice to end slavery in England. “It’s a handsomely staged costume drama with terrific performances and real historic insight.” - Cineworld Magazine

Cook time: 15 mins

Other time: 0 mins

Serves: 4

450g Lean Pork Mince (10% fat), raw 1 medium Onion 1 medium Carrot 50g Sweetcorn 12 teaspoons (level) Dijon Mustard 1 teaspoon (level) chilli flakes 2 teaspoons Dried Mixed Herbs 1g Black Pepper 1 pinch Salt 4 medium Burger Buns 1 portion Lettuce 1 large Tomato 1 large Pickled Gherkin, drained

Instructions 1. In a large bowl, mix together the minced pork, onion, carrot, sweetcorn, mustard, chilli flakes and herbs. Season with salt and pepper. Use your hands to shape the mixture into 4 burgers. Cover and chill, if cooking them later. 2. Preheat the grill or a char-grill pan. Grill or char-grill the burgers for 12-15 minutes, turning them over once, until browned and cooked through. 3. Lightly toast the burger buns on the cut sides only. Lighter Lemon Drizzle Cake Prep time: 20 mins

Cook time: 20 mins

Other time: 0 min

Serves: 12

Using a whisked sponge helps to keep the ProPoints lower in this lovely cake. ProPoints Value: 5 per serving Ingredients

4 sprays Calorie Controlled Cooking Spray 225g Caster Sugar 4 medium (raw) Eggs, whole 75g Low Fat Spread 2 zests of 1 Lemon 100ml Lemon Juice 150g Plain White Flour 50g Icing Sugar

Instructions 1. Preheat the oven to Gas Mark 5/190°C/fan oven 170°C. Spray a 20cm (8in) square cake tin with calorie-controlled cooking spray and line the base with non-stick baking paper or greaseproof paper. Spray the paper once more with the calorie-controlled cooking spray. 2. Put the caster sugar and eggs in a large mixing bowl. Using a handheld electric whisk, beat on full speed until the mixture is very pale and foamy – this will take 4-5 minutes. 3. Gradually add the melted spread, whisking well between each addition. Whisk in the lemon zest (reserve the juice). 4. Sift the flour into the bowl and use a large metal spoon to fold it in. Do this gently and carefully, so that you don’t lose the air. Pour into the prepared tin and bake for 18-20 minutes, until risen and firm. Place on a wire rack. 5. Put the lemon juice and icing sugar into a saucepan and heat gently to dissolve the sugar. Use a skewer to pierce the surface of the cake several times, then spoon the lemon juice mixture over the top, while the cake is warm. Leave until completely cool, then serve, cut into 12 pieces.

Boldon Colts Boys Football Club – On The Up! UNDER 6’s – all about fun, development and learning. Boldon Colts U6s have been taking part in more friendly games against other sides from around the North East, learning the beginnings of taking part in games against other sides and learning how to have fun on and off the pitch, most recently in games against sides from Sunderland and South Tyneside. They’ve won, they lost, they drew – most importantly they have really enjoyed themselves. If your son is eligible and interested, please come along to our training sessions for 5 year old boys (school year one) at Boldon C of E school – get in touch for training times and dates. UNDER 8s – a successful term all around! Boldon Colts U8s capped off a remarkable season by finishing 2nd in the Russell Foster Junior Premier League cup competition, a result of hard work and massive improvement through learning and enjoyment. In such a difficult league, 2nd place shows that the lads have really improved and have been enjoying their football. Boldon Colts U8s reds also had a very successful season and despite only being together for around a year, the lads have come on so much and are an enthusiastic bunch that love to learn through playing football. Well done everyone! UNDER 9’S – They’ve done the double! Boldon Colts U9s capped off a successful season by winning both the league and cup in the Russell Foster U9s league. Well done to all of the players who have put their all into improving and bettering themselves whilst enjoying their football this year – you’ve done yourselves very proud. Well done to coaches Dean and Paul also, who put lots of time and effort into giving these lads a place to play football. You can find the results for all of our teams that compete in the Russell Foster Youth League in the Sunderland Echo every Friday evening.
