AH: Mike, can we start with a little back history, since not all readers will be that familiar with Duncan Aviation’s past?

MM: This was somewhat before my time here, but back in the 1960s and 70s, when business aviation was still very new, Donald Duncan, the company’s founder, was selling a lot of Lear Jets.

Sales and aircraft maintenance were the primary focal points for the business, but as the size of the business jet fleet in the US continued to grow, Duncan Aviation started to focus more on the repair and maintenance side. Owners and operators were flying more, and there was a lot of demand as these folks looked to modify or retrofit aircraft to suit their requirements.
