OLLI LECTURES

BSC Continuing Education is committed to the advancement and enrichment of the BismarckMandan Community and beyond. Our office is home to many programs in support of lifelong learning such as OLLI, personal enrichment, professional development, and industry training. Below we have highlighted a couple of in-demand career training options we offer.

The Certified Nursing Assistant program has equipped thousands of individuals to serve our community for the past 28 years. Our program is regularly reviewed and approved by North Dakota Health & Human Services (NDHHS). Certified nursing assistants (CNA) are vital to the operations of a medical facility through the day-to-day care they provide. The CNA program allows individuals the opportunity to train for a new career in just one month. A new class begins the first week of each month except December. Students complete all theory, skills, and clinical practice on the beautiful BSC Campus in our CNA classroom giving students a real-life experience. Upon successful completion of the training component students are eligible to take the state licensing exam here at BSC. Upon passing the exam our students will be listed on the state CNA registry that is managed by NDHHS.

The Commercial Driving (CDL) Training program is available to those who want to obtain their Class A license. We are an approved training provider listed with the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration. Our CDL program is a non-credit, short-term course that combines classroom theory with hands-on training, including local, county, and highway driving, backing maneuvers, and hazardous material theory. Students will also learn pre-trip inspections, coupling and uncoupling, and chain installation. The course offers a threeweek option for a maximum of four students per instructor and a two-week option with two students per instructor. Not only do we train individuals, but we also conduct the over-the-road test as an approved Third Party Tester for the North Dakota Department of Transportation.
