One of them, Thomas Mills, said: “The memorial service was very thoughtful. We gave a thought to those who had fallen in conflicts that we maybe were not able to recall. They made us think about recent conflicts and to those who have lost loved ones. “This was an experience which I will remember and every year I will think of the fallen solders and families who have had to live through the pain of talking to them but they will never respond. “This makes you think what it will be like if you were in their shoes, what your life would be like. We will remember them.”

Red Hill TREE TRUNKS placed around the edge of Red Hill island in November were the first stage of work to completely block access to the island by travellers, says Leicester City Council. Within a few hours of them being put in place, several caravans and a camper van set up camp on the island. The City Council began the process to remove them and says that once they are gone they will block the perimeter of the roundabout with soil embankments.
