It is nice to be recognised for all the hard work we put in over the year not just by ourselves but by the whole practice team at Firs Dental in Birstall. This award was available to over 90 practices throughout the East Midlands region and is great to be awarded to a Leicester practice. There is no need to pre book, just turn up (you don’t even need to have played cricket before, it’s for everyone!). The bar will be open with food provided so come and have some fun and get involved in cricket and our club! Club team news The 1st XI are currently running second in Division 4 Central and the 2nd XI are also second in Division 7 West . The 1st XI have had some great individual performances including Grant Wright bowling 6-29, Kyle Thomas with 5-14 and Joshua Saye scoring 129. The 2nd XI have also produces some quality performances including Ian Bartlett who seems to be scoring 50 runs+ every week, Akshay Desai scored 74 not out and 59, Richard Olsen scored 64 and captain Ashley Coulthard scored 59. Both teams are now looking to take advantage of their great league position and finish the season on a high. Come down and support the boys whilst enjoying our bar facilities. TWENTY FIVE runners from Birstall Running Club took part in a charity event at the Saffron Lane stadium in July. They were running the Rainbows 100 Lap challenge organised by Dave Muddimer to raise funds for the Rainbows Children’s Hospice. A spokesman said: “Each year team spirit and fun is at the forefront of the event, with every runner cheered on from start to finish. This year was a great success with over £1500 raised on the night for the charity.
