Splashbacks are in by Bushboard

Bushboard sees huge demand for its new fire-resistant Alloy range. Bushboard is delighted with the feedback from the market on its new aluminium splashback range, Alloy, which was launched earlier this summer.

Strong uptake and initial feedback from retailers suggest that a new era of splashback material is becoming increasingly desired by design-driven consumers. To date, more than 900 retailers have already signed up for a showroom display since the collection launched in June 2021, leading Bushboard to believe that the surfaces industry is ready for something new.

Alloy splashbacks offer flexibility within both functionality and design. A fit-forall purposes kitchen solution, as they are both waterproof and fire-resistant, making them an ideal surfacing solution for use throughout the kitchen, even in the hot-zone behind the hob, as well as around the sink.

Alloy’s high-rise panels can also span the width of the kitchen, wall-to-wall, Alloy splashbacks are quick and easy to install with none of the fuss and mess of tiling. Kitchen fitters and installers can speed up the process of a project by being able to fit all the components themselves, including surfaces, rather than requiring a specialist tiler. Solutions like Alloy splashback panels can streamline the installation process which benefits both installers and consumers alike.

In addition to the practical benefits, the driving demand for an open-plan living concept has also inspired the ideals of a living kitchen: a multi-functional living space with interiors that reflect the rest of our homes. When it comes to surfaces and trying to achieve this look, consumers are seeking more aspirational solutions than simply an uninspiring aluminium hob panel or sheet of glass that sits between the hob and the wall. Instead, consumers are embracing surfaces that link the design to the rest of the home, such as using decorative aluminium splashback panels which are likened more to wallpaper or artwork in style, rather than acting as a purely functional and protective wall covering.

For more traditional kitchen aesthetics, Alloy’s Maltese Ochre and Modern Victoria decors are proving popular options for those looking to bring colour and personality into the kitchen. Meanwhile, the much-loved trend for herringbone has transitioned from our floors to our walls, with cementtoned finishes for a bold statement and whitewashed palettes for softer looks. Bushboard also reports Alloy’s monochromatic Geometry décor, and floral painterly effect Urban Cluster designs to be amongst the most popular in the range so far.

With an ability to select from twelve decors across the Alloy by Bushboard range, it appears by the uptake from retailers that splashbacks are here to stay and indicative of where kitchen design is heading next.
