The greater danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we hit it.

his workbook was created especially for you, so that you can take action on your dreams and make this the best year yet. The following questions will help you get crystal clear on your vision, goals and the necessary action steps that are required to make things happen for you. The key is to keep it simply, exciting and actionable. If you are not excited about your vision, the chances of you taking action is slim to none. Make sure that your vision comes directly from your heart and not something someone else is telling you to do or something you think you need to do. Your vision is something you are compelled to do.

In order to work effectively through this workbook, clear your calendar, get a journal and get to work. The best way to use this workbook is hard copy and with a pen and extra paper if you need it. Be Make sure your somewhere without internet connection and very limiting vision comes distractions. It is very important that you let your mind directly from have space to dream, envision and plan. STEP #1 REFLECT! REVIEW WHAT MADE LAST YEAR AWESOME AND MAYBE NOT SO AWESOME.

The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate.

Don't join an easy crowd; you won't grow. Go where the expectations and the demands to perform are high. Jim Rohn

COACH JULIE CARR

Review your accomplishments from the past year. Things that you accomplished, things you are proud of as well as some things you do not want to repeat. Some things you are not so proud of. It is in the failures that we learn the direction we need and want to go. Questions for Guidance:

What are you the most proud of in this past year?

2

1

If you could use a bumper sticker to describe this past year of your life, what would it say?

Before the end of this year, is there any unfinished business you need to resolve? When will you do it? How will you do it? (Eg: apologies, goals to still be achieved, steps that need to be taken in a relationship?)

COACH JULIE CARR

Did you let fear hold you back? If so how?

What are some things you hope to change for the New Year? Maybe there are some areas of your life that are not that exciting. How can you change these?

What new and inspiring people did you meet last year? Are there people that you would like to meet this year? How are you going to go about doing that?

STEP #2 AREAS OF DEFINED ATTENTION

If you have built castles in the sky, let not your dreams go to waste. Just build the foundations under them. Henry David Thoreau

COACH JULIE CARR

Begin to list the core areas of your life where you want to see significant results. Some examples could include: Health, Continued Learning, Helping Others, Marriage, Business, Spiritual, and Physical. The more creative you can get with your naming, the more committed you’ll be. For example, you could say, Expand my Mindset rather than Continued Learning. Go for it! Sky is the limit! Try not to list more than eight (ideally fewer). The point here is to nail the areas in your life that matter and have fun with it. Areas of Attention:

STEP #3 DEFINE RESOLUTIONS AND HABITS

We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit. Aristotle

COACH JULIE CARR

Before we begin to define our massive goals, it is good to start with general themes of improvement or change that you want to work on and see happen. You can refer to them as habit or even resolutions. These differ from goals in the sense that goals are things you eventually accomplish or check off your list. Habits or resolutions are things you want to adopt as part of your life going forward. Some examples of habits I have focused on include: a morning ritual, being very intentional with my time and energy, spending less time on social media, getting more sleep, decluttering my life and making sure I exercise five times a week. According to Leo Babauta of ZenHabbits.net we should choose one habit a month to work on. Anything more than this and we may abandon ship. If you do that for a month straight, it most likely become part of your routine. List up to 12 Habits or Resolutions you would like to focus on for the New Year:

STEP #4 CREATE A CORE GOAL IN EACH AREA OF ATTENTION

A goal is a dream with a deadline. Napoleon Hill

COACH JULIE CARR

Now is the time to begin to think big! These goals do not necessarily need to be massive, but do not take the safe route and aim too low. Most importantly, they have to be meaningful to you. It is not necessary to pick something for every single category, but I encourage you to do so or you may risk sacrificing parts your life that truly matters. Balance is key.

STEP #5 GET SPECIFIC! DEFINE WHAT YOU REALLY, REALLY WANT!

Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go. T.S. Eliot

COACH JULIE CARR

It is not enough to say, “I want to make more money” or “I want to be healthier”. Goals must have the ability to be measured. Most importantly, you need to be in control whether this happens or not. Define exactly what you want. If you want to write a book, then how many days can you commit to? If you want to exercise more, how many times a week and for how long will you exercise? If you do not know the rules of how the game works, how on earth do you expect to win? You can create your own rules.

Below, list the quantifiable (able to measure) outcomes and the specifics of each goal. Goal

STEP #6 GET LEVERAGE: FIND A COMPELLING AND EMOTIONAL REASON WHY

Friedrich Nietzsche

He who has a strong enough why can bear almost any how.

COACH JULIE CARR

You can gain leverage from only one of two places. You can focus on the amazing things you will experience if you complete your goal (Ex: Joy, happiness, contentment, freedom, feeling great). Or you can choose to focus on the really bad things that might happen if you do not. (Ex: broke, unfulfilled, lonely, feeling crappy). Tony Robbins said that in order for us to be successful in accomplishing our goals, we need to make it a must rather than a should. Whether you choose to focus on the positive outcomes of the negative outcomes, find out what is going to make it an absolute must for you to accomplish this goal. In other words, what massive reason can you find for making your goal a must? It is totally your decision. Most importantly, there must be a powerful emotion behind it. Otherwise, when the going gets tough, you will be very tempted to give up and abandon you goals.

List one WHY for each goal. Goal

STEP #7 NOW IT IS TIME TO FILL IN THE BLANKS. BABY STEPS AT FIRST.

Vincent Van Gogh

Great things are not done by impulse, but by a series of small things brought together.

COACH JULIE CARR

Attempting to accomplish a massive goal can be extremely overwhelming. The key to success is to break down the goal into manageable steps. That way it will not feel so overwhelming. • Take each core goal and divide it up into minor steps. I would recommend no more than 3 or 5. • From there, create 3-5 baby steps for each minor step. You may need more or fewer, depending on the goal. You will know when and what is right. • Think about someone who can help you with your goals. Who can help you make your goals a reality? We all need support! You cannot accomplish great things in life all by yourself. We are created for fellowship. On the following pages name and list your goals along with them minor and baby steps. Include anyone who can help you towards these goals. Write as much or as little as necessary per goal, but try to get at least a couple points listed for both steps.

STEP #8 GET THEM ON THE CALENDAR

Unknown

Show me your calendar and I’ll show you your priorities.

COACH JULIE CARR

Look at the goals and habits/resolutions that you have created. Begin to organize them according to the months of the year. This is where it is so important to be intentional with our lives. If you know that your family is really busy during the holidays, make sure that those months are light. If your goals will take a whole year to complete, then fill in your minor tasks in the months where you will take action. Without putting things on a calendar you will feel overwhelmed. You may become so busy with mundane tasks that you do not make time for the things that truly matter. We are all given 24 hours in a day. How are you going to use this time? STEP #9 GET ACCOUNTABLE! TELL AT LEAST FOUR PEOPLE YOUR GOALS

Unknown

Show me your friends and I will show you your future.

COACH JULIE CARR

Choose at least four people close to you about your goals. It is dangerous to keep things to ourselves. We are much more effective when surrounded by a support group. Ask them to be your accountability partners or allies. Give each one of them a finished photo copy of your goals. Ask for their help! You never know what you can accomplish if you do not ask. STEP #10 REVIEW YOUR PROGRESS ON A WEEKLY OR MONTHLY SCHEDULE

Kemmy Nola

Steady perseverance is talking small steps to get to your achievement and toward which effort is directed. As long as you make movement toward a goal, that’s what matters most in life.

COACH JULIE CARR

If you want to see massive progress, you must keep your plan in the front of your mind. Create a routine that allows you to review the above on a weekly basis. It is too easy to keep ideas and dreams, just that, ideas and dreams. They become reality when we consistently address them and make small gradual progress. In one year that really can become huge. Write down when you will review your goals: Day of the week _________________________ Time of day _____________________________

STEP #11 DO SOMETHING RIGHT NOW! IT DOES NOT MATTER THE SIZE OF THE TASK. THE IMPORTANT THING IS TO GET USED TO TAKING ACTION!

Tony Robbins

Never leave the site of a setting a goal without first taking some form of positive action towards its attainment.

COACH JULIE CARR

Never leave the site of a planning session without taking some type of action to get you closer to your victory. It can be very small. You could send an email, a text or make a list of what you need to do tomorrow. Pick something that only requires 5 minutes of your time. Do it right away! Pick one small take for your top few goals that you can do right now to get you closer.

ongratulations! Because you finished this process means you are nearly guaranteed to experience your dreams! But you have to do one thing, and it is pretty major. You have to work your plan.

Dreams rarely become a reality by simply dreaming. It all begins with a dream but cannot stop there. The magic happens when a consistent process of action and dedication are applied to the things in your life that matter the most to you. Massive hard work is required. When you commit on such at level, the sky is literally the limit for you. Commitment is what turns the impossible into the possible. It is what makes the difference between an ordinary life and one that is extraordinary. Wishing you the best year ever! Live your purpose daily and out loud! Coach Julie
