CPT INFORMATION
Congratulations on being accepted to the Center for Advanced Learning! We are excited for the upcoming year and look forward to your presence here at CAL!
As part of the admissions process, you are required to take the College Placement Test (CPT) in Reading and Writing at Mt. Hood Community College. The results are not published. The CPT is not a pass/fail test; so, don’t be nervous! Give it your best effort. This test will help you obtain up to 16 college English credits. That’s a savings of more than $1,600-‐$3,000 in college tuition!
To take the READING and WRITING College Placement Test, follow the steps below:
1) Go to www.mhcc.edu/CollegeNow and then click the link MyMHCC. 2) On the next screen click College Now Admission Application - High School. Then follow the instructions for admissions found in the attached document. IMPORTANT NOTE: Be sure that you register as a College Now student and not as a General Admissions Student.
3) Wait to be sent your Mt. Hood Community College ID number, which will be emailed to the email you provided in your admissions application. 4) Once you have your ID number, go to Mt. Hood Community College testing
center. Bring this letter with you to assure the proper test is administered. Information on available testing times and locations can be found here: http://www.mhcc.edu/CPTschedule. You can also call 503-‐491-‐7678
5) Print a copy of your test results for reading and writing, and math and turn in to
CAL no later than August 1st, 2016. Test results can be scanned and emailed to CPT@calcharter.org or faxed to 503-‐492-‐1572, or mailed to 1484 NW Civic Drive, Gresham, Oregon 97030. Placement tests must be taken before August 1st, 2016 in order to guarantee eligibility for college credit.
