Age UK Cambridgeshire and Peterborough (AgeUKCaP) Coronavirus Covid 19 Support Services Age UK CAP services are operating in a modified way and within the latest government guidelines. These are regularly changing, please contact us to find out how our services are being delivered and what support we can offer.

Domestic cleaning and household support *subject to covid safety measures/latest guidance

In summary our services are as follows: Information and Advice E: infoandadvice@ ageukcap.org.uk • FREE, confidential assistance on a variety of matters including; benefits, health and social care, community care and housing. • Community Support Resource Information document providing details of local support available.

• Daily welfare contact calls and door step visits. • Posting mail / small jobs.

• Consistent Home Support worker. • Weekly or fortnightly, for minimum of 1 hour. Sharing Time (Befriending) • Volunteer contact by telephone, some doorstep/ garden visits to keep in touch and reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation. Day Services

• Centres beginning to re-open with Covid safety measures in place.

• Priority for service users who are particularly alone due to family living away or no next of kin.

• Clubs offer opportunities to socialise, take part in games and activities.

• Shopping delivery of essential groceries and prescriptions. • Phone calls - to reduce loneliness, isolation, provide reassurance and signpost to services. Cambridgeshire Handyperson Service and Home Checks • Critical grab rail installation and keysafe fitting. • Priority support to facilitate hospital discharge. 22

• Shopping, prescription and other essential items delivery.

• Tea or coffee is offered and a hot meal is provided at most of the clubs. Visiting Support Service for Older People • Remote support being undertaken wherever possible eg: to ensure that older people are able to access their benefits entitlement and services. • All community hubs are currently suspended. NB – Fees apply to some services. Services are not available in all geographical areas.
