The year 2017 is the second and most successful year for BIG BERRY brand. The team has been running many new projects simultaneously; has started operating in new international destinations and is also working in the process of opening new ones; with many new partners and suppliers joining the brand. Moreover, BIG BERRY was invited to be part of a global project - the Winter Olympic Games, that will take place in the beginning of 2018 in PeyongChang, South Korea. Yet, as its main showcase, the Kolpa River destination is a demonstration of how successful the brand can be, not only in the leisure field, but in the bigger range of segments. The first BIG BERRY Resort has been used as a test site for the brand's various projects without neglecting the treatment of the guests. It has been shown that the blend of local and cultural aspects with tourism works perfectly well and with high rentability. For the next season, however, the plan is to showcase the other two pillars of the BIG BERRY business. Besides the Brown houses in Kolpa River Resort, the Orange and Blue houses will be placed in an urban area and on the seaside. They will show their versatile design and how well they can fit into any business segment and environment - both in the franchise and license terms. In the light of keeping the business community informed on BIG BERRY projects regarding our Franchises, License and Contracts; a new section for Business in our main website was launched some months ago and can be accessed here: www.bigberry.eu/business. Our plan for the BIG BERRY business, and for what we are working hard, is that it can find its way to many different countries in the years ahead. Our goal is to convince the business community that doing business with our brand is a way of ensuring sustainable economic growth for all parties involved. We will also continue working with the local communities as BIG BERRY business model strongly values the social and sustainable aspects of the business.

IDEA

BIG BERRY brand was born out of the desire to create something completely new that meets the needs of the new world travellers through leisure, freedom and limitless opportunities. The idea of the brand is to provide something unique by combining various elements, so everyone can find something for themselves.

BB logo - visual identity Circle form of BIG BERRY logo stands for simplicity, continuous renewable energy, eternity and connection. Also, circle is believed to be the perfect form in the nature and vast majority of berries are round-shaped. Red violet corporate colour of the logo represents the most common berry colour in nature. Following two points between the words are associated with a wide smile, which gives the logo a friendly and cheerful appearance. The logo by its very nature reminds of a stamp for homemade products but also of a stamp of best quality guarantee. All the features of the logo represent an authentic spirit of the brand. Slogan BIG BERRY slogan: “Luxury of Freedom” is short, but says it all. It combines the words “Luxury” which is associated with wealth, comfort, superior quality and “Freedom” which symbolizes peace, happiness, leisure, nature, limitless possibilities.

BIG BERRY connects the luxury of an ultimate accommodation comfort with freedom and peace of a natural environment. The slogan is a combination of two conflicting desires: comfortable accommodation and the experience of freedom with peaceful and genuine natural environment. Elevator pitch The objective of BIG BERRY is stated through the elevator pitch: “A Genuine Living Experience Entirely Integrated Into Authentic Local Environment”. Everything the brand stands for is defined in this summarized statement. Regardless of the destination, the idea is to provide true and original living experience through real local environment. For this reason, building and strengthening relationships with partners and with the community in the area, are of paramount importance for the company.

Facebook is essential for BIG BERRY branding because it can provide important information about new products or services to incredibly big audience. Because of the big audience it's a great place for promoting BB partners and important BB projects. Facebook page communication compared to other channels is the most important considering 80% of adults use Facebook, and not the other channels.

Instagram is an absolute Âťengagement festÂŤ for BB branding! Instagram delivered 58 times more engagement per follower than Facebook and 120 times more engagement per follower than Twitter in 2016! Most people are visual beings and for that reason Instagram is a growing potential (50 % user growth since last year), which is a lot faster than Facebook for BB visual branding in the future. In the next 2-3 years maybe even bigger than Facebook!

Twitter - Since Twitter is the fastest way to get the message out, BIG BERRY uses Twitter for fast event update.

Big Berry pins should definitely motivate future BB guests, since Pinterest is 80% more viral and 3 times more effective at generating leads than Twitter! Pinterest is awesome for categorising beautiful BB scenery that can be then easily used for Facebook, Twitter and other social media.

Youtube is a great platform for getting in touch with users because it uses videos! BIG BERRY will have significant lean on Youtube for presenting and updating info on most creative projects, which will encourage people to learn while being entertained.

Flickr is not about selling anything and BIG BERRY respects that! Flickr is a place where BIG BERRY can expose and develop BB brand trough storytelling and that's it. Nothing more, nothing less.

Medium is a mix of professional and amateur journalism. It's a great place for bloggers on the rise and BB uses this relatively new platform for potential connections with bloggers.

Tumblr is a good way for following interesting bloggers and reblog some engaging content. BB will work on brand awareness via attractive pictures combined with fun content. Tumblr is mostly European and Asian media, so BB nature and creative travel photos is our way to go.

LinkedIn is the largest professional network on which BIG BERRY will concentrate its focus on connections and networking and not so much on branding.

VK is the most popular social media in Russia and globally it's bigger than Instagram and Twitter. It has the same functionality and purpose as Facebook for BB branding and it has even have more information on business profile, which BB can share with potential guests from eastern countries.

Good Place Shaping the tourism strategy of Bela krajina BIG BERRY was recognized as an example of a sustainable tourism model by a Slovenian tourism agency who is developing the tourism strategy of Bela krajina and invited BIG BERRY to contribute with this project.

Masterchefs Slovenia & Croatian - BIGBERRY was referenced in an article by the World Master Chefs magazine, which emphasised BIG BERRY Chef as a project that tries to share different international cultures, linking the unique flavours to the beautiful region of Bela krajina.

Creditworthiness Rating Parent company of BIG BERRY, Hosekra, received highest possible rate assigned by the credit rating agency.

L U X U R Y T R AV E L CONTINUES TO GROW IN 2018

Over the past few years, the segment of travellers looking for a more luxurious vacation, is exponentially increasing. A report by ITB Berlin and IPK International indicates that highprice trips grew nearly twice as much as global travel did in general, over the past years. According to the research, most luxury travelers come from the USA and China. Many factors play the role in the boom of luxury travel. With an increase of 18% since 2014, high-price travel is one of the main tendencies that tourism brands should keep a close eye on. Without any hesitation, ever since its beginning BIG BERRY has positioned itself as a brand offering luxury accommodation integrated into the local environment. In 2016, the world population realized about 54 million international luxury trips. The market share of these trips rose to around 7% in 2016. This is the result of the evaluation of the World Travel Monitor, conducted by IPK International and commissioned by ITB Berlin. For this analysis, international luxury trips were defined as all outbound short trips of up to three nights with a spending of more than 750 euros per night as well as all outbound long trips of four nights and more and a spending of more than 500 euros per night.

S TA R T I N G A B U S I N E S S A N D L I V I N G H O L I D AY Architect Alessandro Rado, the innovator behind BIG BERRY house interior design, is the CEO, strategic planner and art director of company Dogtrot; a design counterpart of BIG BERRY Houses. Sharing with BIG BERRY the passion for design, nature and house mobility, Rado explains the meaning of every choice for the house interior design, from colours to the usage of the space.

How did you plan BIG BERRY house interior design? A berry is a colourful and wild fruit, and these houses give life to a small world of comfort and design, integrated in the natural context. How did you get to this full concept? Where did you get inspiration from? I got the inspiration from the idea of creating a new way of living vacation and free time, according with changing concepts of lifestyle, and most importantly, by satisfying the desire of a complete and total integration in the natural context.

Many guests mention liking the house because of its lean design concept and modernity. Besides those two aspects, what else have you focused on while projecting the design? Colour has a predominant role in this project. Each home is characterized by a unique colour palette, symbolizing its place to be: Brown is the colour of wood, of the birch tree (common in Slovenia), while Blue is the colour of the sea and the light summer sky. When we mention the house, we normally highlight the proximity it has to nature due to its natural elements. Can you talk about the relation between design elements and nature? BB homes stand always in direct contact with nature. Design is fundamental to guarantee this genuine vacation experience. For example, the big openings in the living room give the feeling of being surrounded by nature. We love BB toilets and it is almost impossible not to get joyful and surprised when we go inside for the first time and find out how big they are, for a 34m² house. How important was this space for you while thinking and projecting it? Every room is designed to the most minute detail in order to offer the guests an experience of total comfort. The toilets especially are the space where the theme of bright colour is prevalent. BB Kitchen delights our guests with the technology gathered there, the big window and doors, and most importantly the open concept. What else can you tell us about the kitchen? Maybe you could talk

about the place it occupies in the house: in most BB houses it is placed in the centre. These mobile homes have been planned as normal houses, so it’s been spontaneous to set in the centre the spaces of sharing, of living together. The core of a home, such as the kitchen and the living room, naturally gravitate towards the terrace and the vast open space.. In terms of adaptability of the house interior and terrace, what can franchisees and licensors expect? Is it possible to rethink the space usability? The project is adaptable to different situations, according to licensors wishes and needs. It is possible to choose between various kind of metal terraces, of different size and design. You can customize colours and materials as you like. When we talk about the environment, do you think BIG BERRY houses can fit everywhere - technically speaking? Yes, it can be installed wherever you want, but it is preferable to place BB houses on the hillside, along a river or at the seaside. For this reason I have decided to divide the concept into three models, whose different colour palette is related to the setting. If you had a BB house to call yours, which one would you choose: brown, blue or orange? Where would you place it? Brown, of course. I love camping, and I’d place near a lake or a river, where there is all the peace you could wish for.

BIG BERRY started operating and managing house units by making them accessible to a wide range of customers, including different target groups from various countries.

RESERVATION PROCESS AND BOOKING CHANNELS Initially, the main goal was to make the booking process fast and easily accessible for all potential customers. With the capacity of only 7 houses available for rental at Kolpa River, BIG BERRY has chosen to carry on with the booking process manually for the season 2017. Reservations were received directly through inquiry on the website or they were regulated by third parties booking websites. Following the booking tendences, BIG BERRY keeps an eye on the most used websites, where people are showing their preference when looking for their accommodation for vacation, business and events. For now, BIG BERRY is present in several online booking sites which can easily be reached and booked through, such as Booking.com, Airbnb, HomeAway, Tripadvisor, Glamping.com, and Pitchup. Overall, the stated online booking sites proved to be efficient. Judging by the reviews of the guests through booking websites and feedback on evaluation form, it could be said that the booking process was a success. Iva Kopf, the team member managing BIG BERRY bookings for the season 2017 said: ÂťSince this season was the first one when we officially started receiving bookings, we wanted to carry out the process manually and include some well-known online booking sites as a trial. The idea was to track guest experience in order to see if there were some improvements that should be made. We only had slight complications, but all in all regarding the booking, this season went quite smooth. Led by experience, I believe that we should work on upgrading for upcoming seasons in order to make the booking process the least painful for the guests.ÂŤ

Since the plan for the next year is to expand and also to start with the franchising system, BIG BERRY is thinking big, as always, and has decided to introduce a new reservation system carried out by PHOBS. The goal is to save more time both for the guests and for the BIG BERRY staff, by speeding up the whole booking process and improve the quality of the whole procedure. PHOBS reservation system is the next-generation real-time online booking engine for hospitality industry which provides full control over all electronic sales channels. The system provides many services that are taking the booking process to another level. BIG BERRY has chosen the sections for Booking Engine, Channel Manager and Reservation Application. Booking Engine is the application that is being integrated into the Website and allows a direct and instant booking. Channel Manager is a central management system that synchronizes all OTA (Online Travel Agencies) channels, on which BIG BERRY is available for booking. It also manages the inventory for official website and B2B partners and reservation applications from a single control point. The system makes specific statistics and analysis from all the gathered information and observations. Reservation Application is an extension which serves as a help for customer service. It sends an offer to customers for every reservation inquiry and links directly to the booking engine. It also creates custom and personalized offers for each customer and improves the speed of handling e-mail inquiries. Above everything else, the system provides IT support, consulting for development and marketing, google analytics tools and campaign tracking. With the help of the new system, the aim is to improve customer relationship in general, to make it smarter and more efficient by collecting and sorting all the information about previous, upcoming and potential customers. Ultimately, effort is put into eliminating the risk and lower the possibility of potential complications.

BIG BERRY believes that freedom to choose how to organise working and personal time is the key motivator and creativity trigger for its employees. The idea is to provide the opportunity to work from anywhere at any time, as long as the wi-fi is available. So far, this work strategy has shown to be very successful. The No-Office-Policy includes a location independent job and it seems to be appreciated among employees which is visible in the work results. Above all, this style of working is in harmony with the whole BIG BERRY concept which is meant to be spread all around the globe. This season a new project under the name BIG BERRY Workation was introduced, where every corner of Kolpa River destination was turned into an office. People could choose their inspiration around the whole area, whether in comfortable butterfly chairs, in the open lounge houses, on the swing, river pool or simply behind a desk at the reception. The idea of the whole policy is to experience working luxury of freedom.

BB team is made of carefully selected individuals who are working on brand development which includes projects, events, marketing; as well as customer, partner and guest relations and all other work behind the scenes that makes BIG BERRY what it is today and defines what it will become in the future. Just like the freedom of remote work, BB people have the freedom to express their ideas and implement the creativity through various projects in order to contribute to the growth of the company and brand. Spirit and diversity of the international team put together creates opportunities to make something different and extraordinary. Mixture of cultures, languages, habits and styles combined makes room for new ideas, learning, exploring and seeing different points of view which, in the end, help to see the bigger picture. EVENTS

It could be said that BIG BERRY is an eventful concept. Events are the essentials of the company’s work and are always in the process of designing and developing, until eventually they are being brought to life. The purpose of BIG BERRY Events is to promote the brand, connect people, make content, create new ideas, concepts, networks, and business opportunities. Through the events BIG BERRY is trying to keep existing connections and create new ones. The idea of an event is usually a spontaneous product of BIG BERRY team creativity and work, in constant desire to grow and create more opportunities. Most of the events are connected to BIG BERRY projects, which are diverse and cover a wide range of possibilities. The idea is to have special events for every target audience, according to their field of interest. There are events happening on a weekly basis, such as BB Chef and Mastermind, the continuous projects of BIG BERRY. In addition, events for the guests include different activities and guided tours. Further, various other events are aimed to promote partners’ products and work, such as ongoing festivities, VIP events, partners’ promotion, press conferences and events for the influencers - journalists, photographers, bloggers and tour operators. Furthermore, BIG BERRY hosts numerous events for companies such as team building, conferences or meetings completely in nature. This year a brand new project was launched - BIG BERRY Workation. It created a great opportunity for a full-week event, where the whole resort was turned into a big coworking space. Other events of the season, BIG BERRY Photography Day and Fashion Week, which happened with the dedication of BB people and partners, are also worth mentioning. Alongside all the mentioned events, there were plenty more smaller ones that made BIG BERRY season 2017 so special and eventful. Many others are going to happen next season, too.

In order for the events to be visited and to attract people, the promotion is done through different channels, depending on the target audience and type of the event. Social Media channels, website, e-mails, invitation letters, radio, direct communication are all being used in order to spread the word and include the community in the events. In the end, an event can be called successful if people had fun, were relaxed and did some quality networking and sharing of experiences. Every time, the upcoming events were expected with excitement which is a proof of good work that the team was doing and will continue to do.

BIG BERRY ON

THE WINTER O LY M P I C S 2 0 1 8 BIG BERRY has immersed into a new project right after closing summer resort on Kolpa River, and once again is going global through connection of ideas, design, businesses and ultimately cultures. BIG BERRY accepted the challenge to create a structure for Slovenian House, located on the near entrance of the Ski Resort Alpensia, in the South Korean city PyeongChang, where numerous prominent and respectful athletes and entrepreneurs will be hosted during the 23rd Winter Olympic Games. The project has had the aim to develop space with unique atmosphere and value for country’s most achieved sportsmen, while creating ambience that shows original Slovenian hospitality, culture, entrepreneurship and architecture to the rest of the world. Considering the size and various functionality that the Slovenian House will have had during 17 days in February 2018, it has been decided to develop rather simple architectural structure with focus on the usability of the space. The idea came from the traditional symbol of Slovenia’s culture, “kozolec”. Completely vernacular architectural style was combined with simple and most recognizable traditional Asian elements, paper lampions. Perhaps hayrack (»kozolec«) was not the right architectural solution to be represented with, on one of the biggest world sport events, or was it? The elaborated concept had a deeper idea, which was to join old-fashioned and handmade elements with contemporary high technology, sport with business and in parallel, Europe with Asia. The “awe” element of the space was reached with the massive wooden structure that show the stability and confidence, with horizontal trunks long 2,40m, and 2,20m high. The hayrack structure included subtle Slovenian symbols, such as Triglav and its three peaks. The structure will host various gatherings and welcome people from different backgrounds; sports, media, entrepreneurs and visitors. Focused on multifunctionality, hayrack structure has optimally divided the space for different purposes; main social area - restaurant, 2 auditories for formal and informal events, lounge area and open spaces for exhibitions or presentation of the sponsors. Being for years in with Slovenian trends and country’s visibility, Hosekra (which is the parent company to BIG BERRY) is a specialist for developing structures that blend in and create the feeling of unity - by joining spaces, purposes and ideas.

TRADITION Ever wondered who is behind the whole BIG BERRY concept? Hosekra is a Slovenian company situated in Slovenska Bistrica, focused on the production of roofings, containers and mobile homes. The tradition of the company dates back to 1989, and it is led by years of experience, together with employees and customers in developing innovative products and adapting to the needs of the customers. During this period of time, the company gained extensive knowledge of production, consulting and installation of roof coverings. The company is engaged in manufacturing, servicing and trading, and has been present on the Slovenian market mainly as a manufacturer of metal roofing products for almost 30 years. From the very beginning Hosekra was slightly ahead of its time, ever since the company introduced new materials and products that were mainly used only in the northern countries, where they proved to be particularly suitable for extreme conditions. Throughout the years, the company expanded their activity to consulting, measuring, delivery, assembly and dismantling of old roofing materials. Their products include insight into the past, present and future of the company. With its work, Hosekra is primary focused on improving the quality of life while taking care of energy and resources, saving as well as protecting the environment. By monitoring innovations and with continuous investments in production, the company opts to become the leader in the industry. After years of experience and positive feedback on the company's work, BoĹĄtjan Hostej, the CEO of Hosekra, develops the idea of BIG BERRY concept, by introducing a new type of mobile homes produced by Hosekra. Wanting to create something completely new by integrating high-quality, modern mobile houses into authentic local environment, it was shown that the new type of houses are suitable for any environment. From a simple idea, the whole new brand was born, with the purpose of providing the experience inspired by the slogan 'Luxury of Freedom'.
