PRINCIPAL’S NOTES
Whilst I Like To Move It was originally an American solo project by Erick Morillo with ragga vocals by a Trinidad and Tobago rapper Mark Quashie, it is most likely better known now as the Sasha Baron Cohen version in the animation film Madagascar.
We may not have Sasha Baron Cohen or Erick Morillo, but we will be movin’ it tonight with six Junior pieces featuring nine performers, eight intermediate pieces (eleven performers) and four senior pieces and performers. With some special guests and a combined piece, we can rock like it is 1993.
Supported by an incredible and dedicated range of musicians (including some of our competitors themselves), Bialik Rising Star 11 is once again a testament to the talent and hard work of our students, the dedication and vision of our teaching staff and the overall vibe and groove of our Bialik family.
Kol HaKavod to our performers, front-of-house, backstage, hosts, logistics, coordination and leadership teams in putting together another feat of talent, inclusion, musicality and fun.
B’Shalom
