Chief Celebrant: Eternal Source of Light and Truth, you led your holy apostles to appoint Deacons and Elders in every place: Grant that your Church, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, may choose men and women with gifts and graces for the ministry of Word and Sacrament, and may uphold them in their work for the extension of your Kingdom; through the One who is Shepherd and Bishop of our souls, Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever. A Lesson from the Old Testament

Isaiah 61:1-6 Lector: Pastor SHIRLEY COARD Anointed with Purpose Ministries

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified. And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste

cities, the desolations of many generations. And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers. But ye shall be named the Priests of the Lord: men shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.

Lector: The Word of the Lord The People: Thanks be to God Ephesians 4:1-13 Lector: Pastor SAMUEL KING Greater Holy Tabernacle

A Reading from the Epistle

I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.) And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: Lector: The Word of the Lord The People: Thanks be to God

“Nothing but the blood of Jesus”

What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus; What can make me whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Refrain Oh! Precious is the flow That makes me white as snow; No other fount I know, Nothing but the blood of Jesus. For my pardon, this I see, Nothing but the blood of Jesus; For my cleansing this my plea, Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Refrain This is all my hope and peace, Nothing but the blood of Jesus; This is all my righteousness, Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Refrain Now by this I’ll overcome— Nothing but the blood of Jesus, Now by this I’ll reach my home— Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Refrain

After the Hymn, The Reader, Pastor YOLANDA McNEAL shall say: May we all remain standing for the reading of the Gospel. Then, all standing, The Presbyter reads the Gospel, first saying:

*** The Holy Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ according to Saint John 10:7-18 Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep. The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep. I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father. The Liturgy of Installation Opening Statement

The Most Reverend SHELVIS R. GREEN, SR.

The Lord has provided for the Church several areas of ministry but preserved the title of Pastor/ Shepherd for the chief position in the local church. Within our common ministry, some have been chosen for particular work as pastors, elders, evangelists, teachers, missionaries, or deacons. In ordinations, we validate these special ministries, remembering that our Lord Jesus said, “Whoever desires to be great among you must be your servant, and whoever wishes to be first in rank among you must be slave of all. It is, therefore, fitting that such a position be given the highest recognition God has ordained for the office. The Presentation Mother E. MARIE BLACK The Christway Apostolic Church (Brooklyn, NY)

The Bishops and People sit. The Representative from the church present the Pastor-Designate saying: Your Grace, The Most Reverend Shelvis R. Green, Sr. Bishop in our LORD’S Church and Presiding Prelate of the Greater Holy Tabernacle Churches Worldwide; the clergy and the people of The Christway Apostolic Church, trusting in the guidance of the Holy Spirit, consent to the installation of the REVEREND SHELVIS R. GREEN II, to the office of Senior Pastor. We therefore ask you to lay your hands upon him, in the power of the Holy Spirit and install him as pastor and spiritual leader of The Christway Apostolic Church.

The Inquiry

The Presiding Prelate now puts the following query to the Pastor-Designate saying the following:

Chief Celebrant:

“Shelvis, as we install you as Senior Pastor to this flock of God, and in the Saints of our Lord Jesus Christ, do you promise to preach the Word of God, rightly dividing it, live it as an example before this flock?”

The Pastor-Designate: The Bishop:

“Do you Shelvis promise to care for the sick and the shut-in, bear their burdens, counsel, and advise them, seeking to encourage, enrich and serve them in this life so that you might discharge your duty as a minister of Jesus Christ?”

The Pastor-Designate: The Bishop:

“I WILL, SO HELP ME GOD.”

“I DO, SO HELP ME GOD.”

“Are you Shelvis willing to serve faithfully, holding the trust of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Holy Scripture and Foundational Doctrine and By-Laws of The Christway Church to the best of your knowledge until such time that kingdom promotion, divine providence or unforeseen events remove you?”

The Pastor-Designate:

“I WILL, BY THE HELP OF GOD.”

The Pastoral Charge

“My Son, you have been called by God the Father, commissioned by Jesus Christ the Son, and endowed by the Holy Ghost to preach the gospel to every creature. Shelvis, I hereby charge you to fulfill your responsibilities as Senior Pastor of this local assembly to the best of your God-given ability. The Lord’s minister must be a man of prayer and study. Therefore, I charge you to be faithful to prayer and studying that you may hear the voice of the Lord and lead His people in His Word, Will and Way. Fill my memory with the record of your mighty works; enlighten my understanding with the light of your Holy Spirit; and may all the desires of my heart and will center in what you would have me do. forth your true and living Word. Be always with me in carrying out the duties of my ministry. In prayer, quicken my devotion, in praises, heighten my love and gratitude; in preaching, give me readiness of thought and expression; and grant that, by the clearness and brightness of your Holy Word, all the world may be drawn into your blessed Kingdom. All this I ask for the sake of your Son our Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.”

Charge to the Church You have heard the solemn promises and prayers of your Senior Pastor. Receive it not as the words of men, but what the Word of God expects of you as members of his flock.
