Beverly Hills Women’s Club members held a kickoff luncheon at President Mumsey Nemiroff’s house for their annual Aviva Day—this year set for April 28 and chaired by Dana Reston Lyons. Guests enjoyed tours of Nemiroff’s art-filled home led by docents from the club. Every year the club invites 40 girls from the Aviva High School, a court-appointed group living facility and fully accredited high school for girls 12-18, for a luncheon and day of beauty and inspiration. The luncheon was catered by Nemiroff’s chef Eloidia Gonzalez, known as “the guacamole queen.” Photos by Maxine Picard

Raffle winners Linda Tow, Linda Schwartz, Maxine Picard and Henny Vlessing won bags of hair and skin products, like the girls will receive at the Aviva Day.

A KNOCKOUT IN BEVERLY HILLS—Boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao visited the Beverly Hills estate of Victorino Noval for a fundraiser for victims of January’s typhoon in the Philippines. The 125 guests “really responded to Manny; they opened their wallets and their hearts. The boxing shorts from the Tim Bradley fight alone brought in $40,000,” Victorino said. “Pacquaio is a favorite to become president of the Philippines.” Pacquiao, who had won a 12-round fight a few days before, sang for a crowd that included Cyrus Pahlavi, of the shah of Iran’s family, and resident Samir Mahallawy.
