Ellen Anderson Dies At Age 91 By John L. Seitz Services are pending for Ellen Anderson, mother of Beverly Hills historian and civic leader Robbie Anderson, who died Tuesday in La Jolla surrounded by her family at age 91. The native of Muncie, Indiana, the former Mary Ellen Nelson came to Los Angeles after receiving a 7-year contract with MGM. Under her stage name of Ellen Ross (pictured), she acted in a number of movies including The Pirate with Judy Garland and Gene Kelly, State Of The Union and Lady In The Lake. After meeting and marrying Bob Anderson, scion of the pioneer Beverly

Hills family, she gave up her show business career to become an accomplished artist and mother. Ellen Anderson was grandmother to Jack, Tabitha, Tiffany, Tatiana, and Talulah, and great-grandmother to Sebastian,Sydney, and Tristan. She is also survived by her brother, Bob of Pennsylvania and several nieces and nephews.

SAT College Admission Exam To Undergo Major Revamp: Optional Essay And 1600-Point Score By Victoria Talbot The SAT college admission exam will drop the timed essay requirement and return to the 1600-point scoring scale in an

overhaul intended to make the test more in line with Common Core classroom teaching. The redesign is the second major overhaul of the exam in its 88

EMBRACE CIVIL CITY–Human Relations Commissioner Rochelle Ginsburg brought free stickers for everyone at City Council Tuesday to proclaim Beverly Hills a Civil City. The Stickers are part of a program to “heighten awareness for demonstrating considerating of others,” and to “improve public safety when walking, biking or driving.” The new stickers can be picked up at City Hall, La Cienega Park, Roxbury Park and the Beverly Hills Police Department.
