Danny Thomas’ Hillcrest Road Trousdale Estate May Be In Escrow By Victoria Talbot The Trousdale home of comedian and philanthropist Danny Thomas, once regarded among country’s most beloved public figure, may be in escrow, according to sources. The fabled estate has been on the market since August 2015 for a whopping $135 million. The property is on track to become the biggest sale in history. Location is everything. The Villa Rosa is located next door to the $70 million Bruce Makowsky-designed property purchased by Markus “Notch” Persson of Minecraft fame, at

1187 N. Hillcrest Rd. Reportedly purchased by Thomas in the 1960s, the home was built in 1970. Encompassing 2.5 acres of the most valuable property in Los Angeles, the property boasts an unencumbered 360-degree view. The Moorish architecture features Baccarat chandeliers, murals, a ballroom, rotunda, dining hall and media room, seven bedrooms and 10 bathrooms in 18,000 sq. ft. The lavish patio and pool area expand across the property to encompass a waterfall spa and the magnificent views of An aerial view of the Danny Thomas Estate at 1187 N. Hillcrest Rd.

Los Angeles. Thomas, father of actress and activist Marlo Thomas, starred in the sitcom Make Room For Daddy, which ran from 1953-1964, and the 1957 Danny Thomas Show. His career spanned five decades in radio, film and TV. A Lebanese-American, Thomas founded American Lebanese Syrian Associated Charities and St. Jude’s Children’s’ Research Hospital, which he often said

was his greatest accomplishment. Following his death in 1991, and the death of his spouse, Rose Marie, the home was sold in 2000 for $15,000,000. The property is allegedly in escrow with Evan Metropoulos, brother of J. Daren Metropoulos, whom you may recall as the man who purchased the Playboy Mansion for a reported $100

million. The Metropoulos fortune is built on Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer, Spaghetti-Os and Bumble Bee tuna. Father Charles Dean is on the Forbes list of the world’s billionaires with a reported net worth of US $2.4 billion. Sources say the luxurious gold-leafed molding and handwoven carpets will fall to the wrecking ball.
