DEAR BGCD FAMILY,

Last May, Bob Scannell celebrated 35 years of leadership at Boys & Girls Clubs of Dorchester. Over the years, our organization has expanded and grown stronger under Bob’s leadership. Despite the stresses of the COVID-19 pandemic, Bob and his team remained steady and resilient, unwavering in their dedication to our children, families and communities. We are still grappling with many issues of the past two years including mental health and learning loss in our youth, both exacerbated by today’s economic insecurity. Despite these challenges, our organization has been a lifeline to support the children and families of BGCD.

Our values at BGCD are Respect, Innovation, Support, and Equality, which is what you’ll quickly discover when you are welcomed through the doors of our three Clubhouses in Dorchester. I want to thank Bob, Mary, the dedicated staff, and supporters like you who value our commitment to excellence.

I am excited to begin the next phase of work as we expand our footprint in Dorchester and are able to serve even more children. As we say at BGCD, “We are stronger together!”
