biography Hi, my name is Bayley Forgues. I was born in Reno, Nevada, and moved to Pennsylvania when I was very young. I attended a local public school district until I had some obstacles that made me move onto a new path in my life in high school. I attended a lovely college preparatory school that helped shape me into the young adult I am today. Growing up, I was influenced by being the daughter of a first responder and in 2014 I become a volunteer firefighter. My work ethic and perseverance has come from being a firefighter for the past 7 years. I may be young but my life experiences have taught me quite a bit about hard work, selfconfidence, overcoming obstacles, and much more qualities that I apply to my everyday life and who I am as a person. I am a college student pursuing two different degrees. At Endicott College, I have been working towards a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interior Architecture and Design, while minoring in Studio Art, for the past 3 years. Additionally, I have been completing courses for my Associate of Science Degree in Fire Science through a volunteer fire company back in Pennsylvania for the past 7 years. I plan to finish my Associate’s degree this summer and my Bachelor’s degree in May of 2022. After graduating from Endicott College, I will pursue an online graduate program to earn my Master of Science Degree in Fire Protection Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. In my designs, I focus on the client and programming as well as trying to make all the decisions fire safe and sustainable, from the wayfinding to materials and more. Outside of design, I enjoy offroading in my Jeep, spending time with my pets, family, and friends, and adventuring nature.

Concept: Lotus flower
Concept Statement: The lotus flower has a life cycle unlike any other plant. With its roots latched in mud, it submerges every night into river water and reblooms the next morning, sparklingly clean. The plant’s symmetry and colors are striking, but beneath the lotus’s delicate exterior lies a deeper meaning nearly as old as time. The flower holds great symbolic weight in many Eastern cultures and is considered one of the most sacred plants in the world. Thte lotus flower is a self cleaning plant. The flower can be used to symbolize health, growth, and strength.

Interior Design Studio ~ Freshman Year ~ Spring Term ~ Project 2
Design Concept Concept: Wine Barrel and Grape Vine The client, Chad, has expressed him and his late husband’s passion for wine and the process. As a new start, he would like to have a small starter winery on the property as well as working the barrel and vines into the project using the elements of them in the space. Wine is the symbol of transformation and cycles of life. The space beginning one of new beginnings and healing, the symbolism behind the wine is a great thing. On the path of healing, Chad wants his gay pride shown, for the symbols of the colors and the community feel. The overall concept of the space is really to create a happy and healing home of Chad and his daughter.

floor plans Second Floor: Treehouse: The treehouse was an added space for the client’s child, that was not in the original programming list from the client. The treehouse is a space for the daughter to have a place to go dream and imagine a beautiful colorful world while her family is still grieving the lost of their husband and father. The client and his daughter had a hand in splattering paint on the two little porches of the treehouse.

Concept: Honey Locust Tree
Associative words: - Natural colors - Irregular lines - Oval leaves - Curvy, seed pods flat - Locally found - Sweet honey smell - Always growing and changing - Texture of the bark - Thorns for protection - Cream colored flowers - Long life span - Changes with seasons
New Growth Learning Co. came to me for a new school design
based in the SoHo area. The building was not to be just a school
but a community center for all to use. The basement was to be used as a gallery and lecture hall. The ground floor as restaurant or cafe. Second and third floor are a community library. Floors 4-6 are
classrooms by grade grouping: floor 4 is elementary, floor 5 is middle school, and floor 6 is high school. The roof terrace was an extra
treat for the client and was left to be configured however I saw fit.
Site anaylsis:
Concept Statement: The Honey Locust tree is a prominant species of tree lining the street of New York City. It is a symbol of beauty, tolerence, renewal, and protection. The tree grows up to 80ft tall with thorns, greenish flower clusters, flat twisted friut pods, which are antisepic, anti-fungal, and antibacterial. With the idea of community and growth in mind, the Honey Locust tree is used as the concept to be symbolic of the growth and development of the community.

Project statement: When trying to define who I am, there’s many roadblocks and challenges that I’ve been faced in my 20 short years on earth. Because of the challenges, I’ve put up walls and hid my memories, happy thoughts and all the things that truly make me who I am. To many people, I only show what is on the outside of my metaphoric puzzle box of who I am but only very few special individuals in my life will ever get to see all of the inside. If I were to only have the words on the outside I would be a strong woman but not nearly as strong as I am with all of the words, inside and outside, as well as all of the memories in the photos that come tumbling out when you figure out the puzzle and open up my walls. This puzzle is a representation of who I am, the strong, independent, overachieving woman along with all my baggage and what has made me who I am. This is me spelt out for you in a puzzle box. No matter how many times you look you’ll never learn everything that makes up who I am.
