Frankelites gearing up to be disciple-makers

What new thing happened in 2019? First on our minds must be Covid-19 which brought China, a major economic power, to her knees but also brought Frankelites closer to God, even as our trust in Him is tested. Despite this trying time, we must not lose sight of Jesus’ commission to us – go to the ends of the earth and make disciples.

I have experienced many ‘Kairos’ moments in my life, especially at christian retreats. The first camp I attended, albeit as a reluctant teenager, deepened my faith so much that I went on to organize similar retreats for the Singapore Polytechnic Navigators for almost 10 years.

Camp DFD (Designed For Discipleship) brought back good memories. Over the four days, Pastor Benny Ho’s messages touched many hearts as we eagerly waited to see what new thing God would do. That Sunday, a challenge was issued to the campers; to rise up and be discipled. 30 campers signed up and attended our first READY Basic Discipleship Refresher course several months later.

This course is the first of several steps to becoming a Disciple Making church, which is a journey BFEC embarked on when she turned 60 in 2018.

May the Lord continue raising more disciples who will in turn train others in Frankel and beyond.
