DO YOU NOT SEE IT?
New experiences that come our way can be scary or exciting or even a mix of the two. But as we look back at them, we can often trace God’s Hand in our stories.
I recall when I first became a father, after 6 years of waiting and trying.

Or the time I changed vocation thrice in the last 32 years, each change daringly different from the last.
Or the time I saw a loved one slip away into eternity right before my eyes.
While I’m still learning precious lessons from these times, for sure I can see God at work though these are mere glimpses of the full picture on this side of heaven.
What was 2019 like for you? Our church’s theme verse was Isaiah 43:18,19. In the New Living Translation, it says:
“But forget all that—it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.
We asked some Frankelites to reflect on their 2019, using four possible scenarios: • What new lesson from the Lord did you learn? • What was one unexpected event you experienced and how did that change you? • What blessing from God did you experience? How are you thankful for it? • In what ways have you seen the Holy Spirit at work in your particular community in BFEC or in your family or in your school/workplace?
The editorial team and I trusted God to send in 19 inspiring articles. Well, we received 23 “something new” God-stories to mark 2019, along with our 46th AGM. I do pray you will savour each of these stories, and weep or laugh along, as I did.
Better yet, be challenged to reflect on your own “something new”. Do you not see it?
