*CHF 40’000–60’000 Der Däne Peder Mork Mønsted erlangte um die Jahrhundertwende durch seine stimmungsvollen Gemälde internationale Bekanntheit und gilt als einer der wichtigsten Landschaftsmaler seiner Zeit. In seinen Gemälden gehört die Verbindung von Wald- und Flusslandschaften zu seinen bevorzugten Motiven. Der Blickwinkel des Künstlers gleitet dabei oft über das Wasser zum Ufer hin. Die Gegend des Spreewaldes eignet sich besonders gut für diese Darstellungsweise. Die Kulturlandschaft im Südosten des Bundeslandes Brandenburg zeichnet sich durch künstlich angelegte Kanäle sowie die natürlichen Flussarme der Spree aus. Mønsted gibt hier detailgetreu die Spiegelung des Lichts und der Waldlandschaft auf der Wasseroberfläche wieder. Die für die Gegend typischen Kähne rücken dabei in den Hintergrund. Denmark’s Peder Mork Mønsted achieved international renown around the turn of the century thanks to his atmospheric paintings and is considered to be one of the most important landscape painters of his time. In his paintings, the combination of forest and river landscapes is one of his favourite motifs. The artist’s perspective often slides over the water towards the bank. The region of the Spree Forest is particularly well suited to this manner of representation. The cultural landscape in the southeast of the federal state of Brandenburg is characterized by artificial channels and the natural branches of the river Spree. Mønsted faithfully reproduces the reflection of light and the forest landscape on the water surface here. The barges which are typical of the region fade into the background. 36
