Looking to add a touch of beautiful nature to your property this spring? Planting a tree is not only a great way to improve the aesthetics of your home, it also gives a gift to the environment and to our community.
Did you know that as a resident of Marple, the Marple Tree Commission will come to your home to plant a tree in your yard? Re-Leaf Marple is a program of the Marple Tree Commission through which Marple Township residents can purchase trees for their properties at nominal cost.

Each spring, approximately 50 trees ranging from small (height of 20') to very large (height of 80') are available for purchase. Small flowering trees have been the most popular. Since 2012, the Marple Tree Commission has planted 537 trees in Marple Township.
When you purchase a tree through the Re-Leaf Marple program, a Marple Tree Commission member will assist you in planting, mulching and staking the tree. They will also install protection from string trimmers (weedwackers) and deer.
As a volunteer for the Marple Tree Commission, Marple resident Janis Egan has been planting trees in Broomall since the program started.

The tree commission also plants trees throughout the Marple community. Although the pandemic forced them to postpone their usual Arbor Day tree planting last April, they were able to reschedule their Arbor Day plans in November 2020, planting trees at the Broomall Fire Company, the Thomas Massey House and in several Broomall parks.
If any Marple resident is interested in purchasing a tree for their yard, contact Janis at 610-356-5046 or send an email to Marianne.F.Price@gmail.com. The list of trees changes from year to year. A new list is posted on the website (www.MarpleTreeCommission.com), and trees are planted in the spring and early summer.
