Small Painting Projects That Can Make a Big Difference While spending extra time at home lately, perhaps you’re noticing the areas of your home that could use a little love. It’s never too early or too late for you to invest in improving your home. As projects around the house start to build up, so can a homeowner’s stress level. You may feel like there is never an “ideal time” for you to get your house looking the way you imagine. However, you might be surprised to know that winter is an ideal time to tackle those painting projects. Check out these small painting projects that can drastically improve your home’s aesthetic. Add accent colors to your living room. It’s common to see mostly neutral wall colors, especially in living rooms. Consider adding an accent color to one wall in your living room. Accent walls are a fun way to enhance any living space. The best part is that you can then decorate and accessorize with matching pillows, throws and rugs. Freshen up doors and trim. wear and tear of daily living, especially if you have kids. A new coat of paint on your doors and trim can brighten any room. Consider painting your front door a different color than your trim, to make the door a statement for your entryway. Spruce up your hallways. Do your children use the hallway walls to wipe their hands or as a play area? Just like with the trim, there is only so much you can do to clean off fingerprints and scuff marks. After time, you simply need to repaint the walls. However, paint fades over time, making it impossible to effectively match the existing paint color, and touching up will not do the trick. It may be time to repaint the halls and maybe even try out a new, complementary color on them. Wow your guests with your bathroom. Do you have water streaks on your bathroom walls? Bathrooms may need to be repainted before any other room in your home. The moisture and heavy use in such a small space can do a number on your paint job. Bathrooms are also high-traffic areas that are often neglected. This could be a great place to add some excitement to your home with a fresh, new paint job. NS
