Will YOU be the Next Student of the Month & Winner of a $100 Gift Card? Lena Bardakjian has earned recognition as B&E Sportswear Student of the Month for May. Her acts of service include volunteering with the senior homes and volunteering for the church. As part of this award, Lena will receive a $100 Wawa gift card, courtesy of B&E Sportswear. Lena is currently a senior at Episcopal Academy. She has maintained good grades throughout her school years. Her teachers are most proud of her work ethic and passion for what she does, not just for the grades but for the joy of learning and expanding her horizons. Lena also participates in many extracurricular activities at school, including captain of the EA dance team. She is on the Executive Committee of Community Service, and participates in

Model UN. Her passion for community involvement is consistent through how she spends her time and energy in and out of school. In her church, Lena is in the choir and also serves as the Chairperson for the youth group. She helped to create a popular fundraising event known as “attic treasures,� which collects used goods and gives all the funds back to the church. When she was 13, Lena began volunteering with residents in Wesley Enhanced Living, a senior living community on Martins Run. She has been visiting and volunteering ever since, sincerely enjoying the opportunity to spend her time learning and laughing there. Lena is an ideal example of a Student of the Month. She succeeds in academics and athletics, and above all prioritizes giving back to her community.
