The Wine Bar, Stamford Nearly two years ago one of Stamford’s most popular venues for fine wines, good coffee and a well-liked catch up venue wasn’t here, so how’s it going?

s one of Stamford’s world famous events, Burghley Horse Trials, is another year older it makes you realise how quickly the time passes! I mean, where has 2016 gone, more importantly where did the summer of 2016 go…Luckily The Wine Bar, on St Paul’s Street in Stamford, has been serving a superb array of wine, specialist spirits and superb platters all summer long. Like a hidden gem The Wine Bar has a fantastic outdoor space which surprises much of the clientele, shhhhh…. just don’t tell everyone! So after nearly two years for the owners Alex Way and Stephen MIskell, how is it going? Both still smiling, looking a little older but both still loving running one of Stamford’s most popular venues, the boys are doing well. With an ever-increasing team of friendly and knowledgeable staff it just means there are more people to argue about what to put on the wine list! With regularly changing wine menu’s you’ll be sure to find something new to try, if not, how about coming along to one of The Wine Bar’s regular wine tastings and expanding your wine knowledge. Whilst starting out with 6 different gins, The Wine Bar has now expanded slightly…. to 25 different gins. But why… well Alex says ‘‘we like to respond to customers and what they would like, gin is very popular so we like to try some new products. There’s just so much to choose from!’’ Luckily there is a Gin and Tonic for every palette, feel free to ask the staff to recommend you one.
