Karen and Graham Elkington, owners of Belton Garden Centre, are absolutely thrilled to have won the coveted industry award of “Best Business Development” for the newly launched Coffee Shop and Restaurant at the Garden Retail Awards held last week at the Park Lane Grosvenor House Hotel in London. Over 16 garden industry judges including TV gardeners Toby Buckland and Christine Walkden, Gardeners World Editor, Adam Pasco, and The Sun gardening correspondents Val and Steve Bradley, presided over a vast amount of entries from garden centres covering the length and breadth of the UK. The Restaurant is run and managed by daughter Victoria Elkington, and she works with a network of local producers to ensure that food miles are kept low and the local economy is supported as much as possible. Graham commented: “Karen, Victoria and I are absolutely delighted to have won this award which we have displayed in the Coffee Shop and Restaurant to share with all our customers. We have seen tremendous success and customer footfall increase in a short period of time, which really has made the whole project very worthwhile. We sincerely thank our team here at Belton and everyone involved in the project for helping us to create a beautiful area that we can share with all our customers.” • Belton Garden Centre, Belton, Nr Grantham, NG32 2LN Tel: 01476 563700 www.beltongardencentre.co.uk
