SUSTAINABILITY

A M ESSAGE FROM THE CEO

2024 marked a turning point for the packaging industry. Sustainability is now a core business driver—shaping how we innovate, grow, and serve our customers. At Berlin Packaging, we have embraced this shift enthusiastically, embedding sustainability into every facet of our strategy.

This year’s report highlights the progress we’ve made, the challenges we’ve faced and how we’ve tackled them, and the opportunities that lie ahead.

Packaging as a Catalyst for Change

Packaging is everywhere—it protects products, tells stories, and connects people to the brands they love. But at Berlin Packaging, we believe it can—and must—do more. Our customers—both consumers

and B2B partners—are increasingly demanding sustainable solutions that align with their values. At the same time, regulators are raising expectations, and the risks of inaction are higher than ever.

That is why sustainability is not just a project for us; it is a guiding principle. We focus our efforts on areas where we can make the greatest impact: reducing our environmental footprint, advancing circular solutions, and helping our customers achieve their own sustainability ambitions. In 2025, we achieved validation from the Science-Based Targets initiative (“SBTi”) by setting ambitious, science-driven emissions targets and embedding rigorous climate action across our operations. This milestone underscores our commitment to real, measurable change. 1

This year, our teams pushed the boundaries of what packaging can be. We introduced innovative bio-based and recyclable materials, designed refillable systems that reduce waste, and guided brands through a rapidly shifting regulatory landscape. Every step forward reinforces our commitment to making packaging a part of the solution, not the problem.

SUSTAINABILITY IS ABOUT MORE THAN COMPLIANCE OR COST—IT IS ABOUT CREATING LONG-TERM VALUE FOR EVERYONE WE SERVE.

By unlocking new revenue streams, mitigating risks, and building lasting competitive advantages, we are proving that sustainability is not just good for the planet—it is good for business.

The Power of Partnerships

We know that lasting change cannot be achieved alone. Collaboration is essential to driving systemic progress. In 2024, we strengthened partnerships across our value chain—working closely with

suppliers, customers, and industry groups to accelerate innovation and share best practices.

Our engagement extended beyond industry boundaries as well. We expanded collaborations with academic institutions and community organizations to advance research and initiatives that benefit both society and business. We also embraced new technologies and data-driven insights to better understand customer needs and measure our progress. By doing so, we are not only meeting today’s expectations—we are preparing for tomorrow’s opportunities.

Empowering Our People and Communities

Our people are central to everything we achieve. The 1Berlin Shared Ownership Plan, launched this past year, gives every Berliner a stake in our success and fosters a culture of ownership and accountability. We also advanced our recruitment and professional development initiatives, ensuring our teams have the experience and perspectives needed to collaborate, innovate, and lead in a rapidly evolving world.

Beyond our walls, we continue to invest in the communities where we live and work. One partnership I am especially proud of is our work with Southside Blooms.

Together, we are transforming vacant lots in Chicago into vibrant urban flower farms that provide jobs and hope for at-risk youth. This initiative is a powerful reminder that sustainability is about more than environmental stewardship—it’s about creating opportunities and positive change in the communities we call home.

Looking Ahead: Staying the Course, Raising the Bar

As we move into 2025, I am proud of what we have accomplished but equally energized by what lies ahead. Sustainability is not a destination—it is an ongoing journey that requires resilience, creativity, and bold leadership. We will continue focusing on what matters most: driving innovation that delivers measurable impact for our customers, communities, and planet.

To all Berliners: thank you for your dedication and ingenuity in advancing our mission. To our partners and customers: thank you for your trust and collaboration as we work together toward shared goals. Together, we are shaping a more sustainable world—one package, and one community, at a time.

With gratitude,

By aligning inventory levels with market demand and implementing efficient management practices, we’re minimizing excess stock, promoting resource efficiency, and reducing waste. This approach optimizes our warehouse operations and leads to more efficient routing and consolidation of shipments, further reducing transportation-related emissions.

BERLIN PACKAGING GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS 3

3 This data covers our electricity and natural gas usage across our Americas and European regions, as measured by internal data collection. As we have expanded the scope and depth of our emissions reporting, we have updated our baseline and progress emissions according to new data and methodologies. The 2022 baseline and subsequent years reflect these updates to ensure consistency and accuracy in our reporting.

SCOPE 3

In 2024, we undertook a comprehensive mapping of our Scope 3 emissions—the indirect emissions embedded within our value chain. This critical step informs our strategy to reduce these emissions by 25% by 2030, a target that reflects our commitment to driving meaningful change beyond our direct operations. To guide our efforts, we completed a detailed Scope 3 baseline assessment, which revealed that (1) purchased goods and services, (2) end-of-life treatment of sold products, and (3) processing of sold products represents the most significant sources of emissions. Together, these categories account for over 90% of our total Scope 3 emissions, making them critical focus areas for our reduction strategy.

Our assessment methodology aligns with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard, Greenhouse Gas Protocol Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Accounting and Reporting Standard, and the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Technical Guidance for Calculation Scope 3 Emissions (version 1.0). We’re actively working to enhance the accuracy of our data by transitioning away from spend-based modeling and prioritizing the collection of primary data where possible.

RESPONSIBLE SUPPLY CHAIN

At Berlin Packaging, our supply chain is a driving force for positive change—delivering value, resilience, and measurable ESG impact. In 2024, we elevated our approach by embedding best-inclass practices, robust data, and a spirit of innovation into every step of our procurement and supplier engagement strategy.

By embedding sustainability into every procurement decision and investing in both global partnerships and in-house R&D, we’re shaping a supply chain that’s resilient, inclusive, and ready for the future. We’re not just sourcing packaging—we’re sourcing progress and building a portfolio of solutions that empower our customers and our communities to thrive in a circular economy.

Embedding ESG in Supplier Relationships

We conduct regular materiality assessments to identify and manage the most significant ESG risks and opportunities within our supply chain, including climate, human rights, and governance concerns. Our due diligence process is continuous and data-driven, leveraging third-party platforms such as EcoVadis and Sedex to assess, benchmark, and improve supplier performance. In 2024, 76% of our targeted suppliers completed third-party ESG assessments, up from 64% in 2023, and 54% underwent on-site audits. This year, 204 suppliers were assessed through these platforms, reflecting our commitment to transparency and accountability.

To drive partnership, transparency, and innovation at every step, we launched our EMEA Supplier Engagement Program on sustainability, targeting approximately 20 key suppliers across diverse regions and sectors in its first phase. This program is designed to foster open dialogue and joint action, focusing on three core priorities: improving Scope 3 emissions reductions, co-developing more sustainable products and materials, and navigating the evolving landscape of EU sustainability regulations, including PPWR, CSRD, CBAM, and EUDR.

This year, 7.27% of our North American spend was directed to diverse suppliers, with a focus on womanowned and minority-owned businesses. We prioritize suppliers with recognized diversity certifications, strengthening our supply network and supporting economic opportunity in our communities.

Supplier Engagement and Capacity Building

We believe transformation happens together. In 2024, we hosted 68 supplier capacity-building events—more than triple the previous year’s total— focused on sharing best practices, supporting compliance with evolving regulations, and driving continuous improvement. We maintain open communication channels, provide resources and training, and work with suppliers to develop and track corrective action plans where needed.

Through regular engagement, we’re not only sharing our expectations but also listening to supplier insights, identifying shared challenges, and co-creating solutions that drive measurable progress. This collaborative approach is already helping us accelerate innovation in new materials and product design, while ensuring our supply chain is prepared for the demands of tomorrow’s regulatory environment.

Sustainable Procurement

Our procurement strategy is rooted in a global search for the most advanced, low-carbon packaging materials and technologies. We prioritize suppliers who share our vision for sustainability, resilience, and ethical business, and we focus on driving an industry-leading portfolio of circular and low-impact packaging solutions.

Beyond sourcing, we invest in in-house research and development to create proprietary solutions that set new industry standards. Our Syntara bioplastic, for example, is engineered for compostability, reduced emissions, and circularity—demonstrating our commitment to innovation that drives both environmental and business value.

Continuous Improvement and Accountability

We set clear objectives, track progress with quantifiable metrics, and regularly review supplier performance against our ESG standards. Our cross-functional ESG team ensures data integrity, legal compliance, and alignment with international reporting frameworks. We are committed to ongoing improvement, transparent reporting, and collaborative action to advance responsible sourcing and supply chain sustainability.

SMALL PACKAGE, BIG IMPACT: ADVANCING CIRCULARITY WITH PAPER-BASED PACKETS

As brands seek to move beyond plastic, our exclusive partnership with a U.S.-based innovator led to the launch of our Paper-Based Packets—our next-generation paper-based sample packaging— engineered for a wide range of industries, from beauty and wellness to food, beverage, home care, and beyond. These compact packets are made with up to 85% responsibly sourced or recycled paper, use over 90% less plastic than traditional formats, and are produced using 100% renewable wind energy. Recyclable where facilities exist, our solution empowers brands to reduce waste without sacrificing convenience or product integrity.

By offering leak-proof, customizable, and eye-catching packaging, we’re proving that sustainability and standout branding can go hand-in-hand. In 2024, we've continued to help partners across markets deliver premium, eco-friendly experiences—one sample at a time. Together, we’re making “try me” and “take me with you” a win for both customers and the planet.

Our success is built on the strength of our people and the connections we foster with the communities we serve. Guided by our One Berlin values and an Anything is Possible ® mindset, we’re committed to creating lasting impact through initiatives that prioritize shared success, inclusivity, and well-being. Our Talent and Culture strategy is rooted in three interconnected pillars—Workforce, Workplace, and Marketplace— each designed to empower employees, strengthen our culture, and create positive change in the communities where we live and work.

We’ve established a multi-year roadmap consisting of three strategic pillars to cultivate a diverse and inclusive workplace.

Workforce

Strengthening the workforce through inclusive recruiting and transparent promotion practices.

Workplace

Delivering programs that strengthen culture, including learning programs and transparent communications.

Marketplace

Positively impacting the communities in which we live and work by designing and overseeing company-sponsored volunteer and outreach activities, charitable giving, and strategic partnerships.

WORKFORCE: BUILDING A STRONG AND UNIFIED TEAM

Our people are at the heart of everything we do, and we firmly believe that attracting and retaining top talent is critical to our continued success. We recognize that our collective achievements stem directly from the unique contributions of every individual on our team. We’re committed to strengthening our workforce through inclusive hiring practices and transparent pathways for career advancement. This commitment ensures that as our organization grows, our people grow with us, fostering an environment where everyone can contribute their best.

Talent Attraction & Recruitment

Building a winning team starts with attracting exceptional talent. Beyond skills and experience, we seek individuals who embody our Anything is Possible® mindset—those who are passionate, resilient, and driven to succeed while elevating those around them.

In 2024, we made significant strides in enhancing our talent acquisition processes. Through our partnership with TalentAlly, we expanded our recruitment pipeline

and diversified our candidate pool. To further attract a wider range of applicants, we crafted inclusive job postings designed to encourage candidates from all backgrounds, regardless of whether their experience was a "perfect" match. We delivered comprehensive manager training on how to hire fairly, by implementing a structured hiring processes that minimizes unconscious bias. These combined actions ensure we're not only attracting but also effectively bringing in unique perspectives that drive innovation, foster collaboration, and empower every employee to contribute their best work.

Career Growth and Development

To support employee growth and development, we've established a variety of pathways for career advancement with a toolkit that outlines potential career moves and development opportunities. Additionally, employees have access to job postings to view open roles and new career opportunities. We continue to leverage mentorship programs to connect new hires and aspiring individuals with more experienced employees, providing guidance and insights for career progression and success.

Furthermore, we provide employees with access to training, tools and resources including individual development plans (IDPs), co-created with managers, to outline specific skills to acquire and experiences to gain for their desired career trajectory. We encourage employees and managers to use the annual performance review process to share feedback, discuss career goals, and development plans.

Annual Acknowledgment and New Hire Process

Our commitment goes beyond just recruitment, training, and development; it's about continuously aligning every employee with the principles that define our company culture. We share our expectations for conduct annually and during the new hire process to ensure everyone understands their role in upholding Berlin Packaging’s core values.

• During the new hire process: All new employees are introduced to the Global Code of Conduct as part of their onboarding. This ensures that from day one, they understand our expectations regarding integrity, respect, and accountability.

• Annually: Every year, we require all employees to review and sign the Global Code of Conduct. This annual reaffirmation reinforces our dedication to these values and ensures they remain at the forefront of our collective conduct.

WORKPLACE: FOSTERING A SAFE, POSITIVE, AND INCLUSIVE CULTURE

Our workplace is more than just a place to work—it’s a vibrant community where collaboration thrives and employees are empowered to contribute their unique ideas and perspectives, driving shared success and professional growth.

Empowering Shared Success: The 1Berlin Shared Ownership Plan (BSOP)

In 2024, we launched the 1Berlin Shared Ownership Plan (BSOP), a transformative initiative that empowers eligible employees to share in the financial rewards of our company’s growth. Employees with two years of continuous service automatically gain a stake in the company’s future success, aligning their contributions with company performance.

To support BSOP, we introduced quarterly “Ownership Updates” and launched the "WE Own It" employee suggestion program, which invites employees to share innovative ideas that drive business growth and operational excellence. Recognizing impactful contributions fosters a sense of ownership and accountability across the organization. As we move forward, the program will continue to evolve, enhancing our efforts to foster an ownership mindset and sense of empowerment so every Berliner can thrive alongside the company they helped build.

Engaging Our Teams through Feedback and Communication

Listening to our employees is central to fostering engagement and building a supportive workplace culture. In 2024, we conducted our annual employee net promoter score (eNPS) survey across our Americas region, achieving an 81% participation rate and an overall eNPS score of 33— placing us in the “very good” range. Employees highlighted our strong culture of collaboration, the dedication of their teammates, work flexibility, and the supportive leadership demonstrated at local levels. Our recently launched 1Berlin Shared Ownership Plan (BSOP) was also recognized as a significant investment in employees that aligns with our values of shared success.

Employees also identified opportunities for improvement including elevating our recognition and reward programs, enhancements to systems and processes, and formalizing internal communication channels. By acting on employee feedback, we’re building a workplace where every Berliner feels heard, valued, and empowered.

Recognizing Excellence: Rewards & Recognition Programs

Celebrating achievements is central to our culture at Berlin Packaging. Our recognition-based awards include the annual Rising Star and Anything is Possible® Awards, where Berliners nominate colleagues who embody our values and deliver outstanding results. Winners are honored with trophies, monetary bonuses, and exclusive reward trips—acknowledging their exceptional contributions to our mission.

In addition to recognition programs, we offer competitive compensation packages that include variable pay structures such as uncapped commission plans, bonus plans, and unique incentive programs like the WINGS program, which provides eligible employees with airline vouchers.

Learning & Development Highlights: Empowering Growth

Continuous learning is integral to fostering a workplace where Berliners can thrive. In 2024, we rolled out several training programs covering product and market training, financial acumen, unconscious bias, harassment and discrimination prevention— equipping our teams with the information and tools to perform their roles with success.

In 2024, we provided employees with access to training sessions on intergenerationality, interculturality, equity, and more—fostering crosscompany dialogue on ESG topics while building a more inclusive culture. Our commitment goes beyond recruitment and training—we have implemented a Global Code of Conduct to ensure every employee upholds Berlin Packaging’s core values of integrity, respect, and accountability. We also rolled out unconscious bias training with hiring managers and across various levels of the organization to help employees identify hidden biases and adopt more inclusive behaviors. This included dedicated workshops for senior and middle management leaders, equipping them with the tools to champion inclusion within their teams and drive meaningful change throughout the organization.

Additionally, we offered comprehensive financial acumen training, delivered through three targeted modules, designed to cultivate an ownership mindset. This training taught employees essential business finance, showing how their decisions directly boost company value and returns. It also gave them practical ways to increase business value in their daily tasks, encouraging them to find better ways to work, improve processes, and help grow revenue. This training reinforced our belief that when all employees think like an owner, use their voice, and collaborate effectively, we achieve success together.

Sustainability remains a core focus of our learning initiatives. Our Global Sustainability Team engaged 170+ packaging consultants for 1,500+ training hours through trade shows, supplier meetings, workshops at local business units, and tailored region-specific sessions. In our EMEA region, our Sales Activation Plan exemplified this commitment by engaging 48 sales representatives across Germany, the Netherlands, and the UK with interactive training on guiding customers toward sustainable packaging solutions.

We regularly update our Berliners on our ESG progress through recurring town halls featuring sustainability updates. In EMEA, our Sustainability Onboarding program introduces new hires to Berlin Packaging’s sustainability strategy—ensuring every Berliner understands their role in driving positive impact from day one. Internal communications throughout the year promotes sustainability initiatives and opportunities for employees to give back to their communities.

Health & Safety: Fostering a Culture of Wellbeing

Employee wellbeing is at the heart of our operations. We’re continuously strengthening our safety culture by expanding the use of our Berlin4HSE app and launching the Engagement League, which encourages regular safety inspections, real-time reporting, and active participation in safety huddles. In 2024, 97% of our warehouse staff across 29 EMEA sites engaged with these initiatives, making safety more accessible and collaborative than ever before.

This year, we also introduced a region-wide Sustainability Day, which established a standardized waste management framework to promote best practices and streamline recycling efforts. To further unify and elevate our standards, teams from

the Americas and EMEA regions participated in collaborative workshops, exchanging experiences, safety solutions, and suggestions for improvement.

Our ongoing Housekeeping Competition and steady progress toward ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications reflect our unwavering commitment to continuous improvement.

By integrating advanced technology, targeted training, and strong employee engagement, we are building a safer, healthier, and more sustainable workplace for everyone. Our approach emphasizes regular equipment and facility inspections, comprehensive safety training, transparent communication, and the proactive use of automation and analytics to identify and address risks. This holistic strategy not only reduces incidents but also fosters a culture where every employee feels valued and empowered to contribute to workplace safety and wellbeing.

ADVANCING SUSTAINABLE MOBILITY AND ENERGY EFFICIENCY

Sustainability is embedded in our workplace practices. In 2024, Berlin Packaging Netherlands opened an innovative truck loading and charging area at its warehouse in Eerbeek—a milestone in reducing Scope 2 emissions. Powered by 3,050 solar panels generating approximately 1.2 gWh annually, this facility integrates smart energy systems to optimize green energy use while supporting simultaneous charging for up to 10 electric trucks (with future capacity for 18). In Italy, we continued implementing the "Home-Work Travel Plan" at key sites to reduce emissions while improving employee well-being.

MARKETPLACE: MAKING A POSITIVE IMPACT IN OUR COMMUNITIES

We believe that thriving communities are the foundation of a sustainable future. Guided by our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) framework and aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), our Marketplace pillar focuses on creating lasting impact through sustainability initiatives, community engagement, and strategic partnerships. By empowering employees, collaborating with organizations, and driving innovative programs, we are building a future where both people and the planet thrive.

Uniting for Impact

Berliners across the globe joined forces to connect, engage, and advocate for diverse causes. From environmental restoration to disaster relief, our teams worked hand-in-hand with organizations to drive meaningful change.

Climate Action: Protecting the Planet While Empowering Communities

We’re committed to addressing environmental challenges while creating opportunities for social impact. In Chicago, we deepened our collaboration with Southside Blooms, a social enterprise transforming vacant urban lots into solar-powered flower farms. This initiative creates jobs for at-risk youth while promoting regenerative farming practices. We provided critical support

by designing packaging solutions for national flower shipments, sourcing suppliers, and building inventory management systems. These efforts helped Southside Blooms achieve a 143% revenue increase in one year and create 35 living-wage jobs for underserved youth. Employees also joined beautification efforts at the farm near Cook County Jail and supported the organization through a flower subscription for our office.

In Italy, we partnered with Veneto Agricoltura and the Veneto Region to support the eCO2centrO2 initiative, transforming unproductive land into ecosystems of Paulownia trees known for their high CO₂ absorption. By funding tree planting and irrigation systems, we contributed to global climate goals while fostering local biodiversity.

FLOWERS THAT EMPOWER: SOUTHSIDE BLOOMS PARTNERSHIP

BERLIN PACKAGING HAS BEEN INSTRUMENTAL IN SCALING OUR OPERATIONS,” SAID QUILEN BLACKWELL, FOUNDER OF SOUTHSIDE BLOOMS.

“THEIR EXPERTISE HAS ALLOWED US TO GO FROM BEING A $700,000 ORGANIZATION IN 2022 TO $1.7 MILLION TODAY—A TESTAMENT TO WHAT COLLABORATIVE EFFORTS CAN ACHIEVE.

Community Well-Being: Supporting Food Security and Education

Healthy communities thrive when basic needs are met and opportunities for growth are accessible.

In Chicago, Berliners partnered with the Greater Chicago Food Depository to repack 8,500 pounds of beans—creating over 7,000 meals for families in need. Berliners also joined Feeding America’s 9 Million Meals campaign to help provide 8.7 million meals across 21 communities.

Education accessibility was another key priority. In Italy, we supported Seleggo, a free service providing optimized school textbooks for students with dyslexia—making learning more accessible for children with special needs. In the UK, Berlin Packaging partnered with the Salvation Army’s Christmas Present Appeal, collecting gifts for children from struggling families while employees sorted and wrapped presents to deliver joy during the holiday season.

Emergency Relief: Supporting Communities in Times of Crisis

When disasters strike, we’re committed to supporting affected communities globally. As a

Ready 365 Bronze-level partner of the American Red Cross of Illinois, we contributed $10,000 to support efforts that strengthen local community resilience and enable year-round preparedness. We contributed an additional $10,000 to the National Emergency Response Fund, assisting their response to one disaster every 8 minutes across the U.S., including support for those impacted by the Los Angeles wildfires. Our Chicago employees assembled care kits for veterans experiencing homelessness at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center and participated in blood drives.

Following devastating floods in Valencia, Berlin

Packaging Iberia donated to the Red Cross to assist families with food, shelter, hygiene kits, and recovery efforts. These partnerships reflect our dedication to standing by communities when they need us most.

STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT

Effective stakeholder engagement is fundamental to our ESG strategy, ensuring that diverse perspectives inform our approach and drive meaningful progress. Our process begins with strong governance: the Board of Directors provides active oversight by reviewing and approving our annual ESG report and sustainability performance.

Recognizing that achieving our sustainability goals requires collaboration, we maintain open and ongoing dialogue with a broad spectrum of stakeholders— including employees, suppliers, customers, and industry partners. Through regular communications, feedback channels, and joint initiatives, we gather valuable insights that help shape our programs and foster a culture of shared responsibility across the organization. We actively pursue strategic partnerships with industry organizations, NGOs, and community groups. This engagement not only strengthens our relationships but also ensures our initiatives are responsive to stakeholder expectations and evolving industry standards.

Transparency is central to our approach. We report annually in alignment with leading frameworks such as GRI and SASB, and share our progress on platforms like EcoVadis and Sedex. In addition, our participation in industry organizations—such as the Sustainable Packaging Coalition and the Association of Plastic Recyclers—enables us to contribute to broader sustainability advancements and stay at the forefront of best practices.

To ensure that ESG-related risks—including climate change, supply chain resilience, and data privacy— are effectively managed, we integrate them into our enterprise risk management framework. The Board regularly reviews these risks, while our ESG Steering Committee implements and monitors mitigation strategies at both global and regional levels. This integrated approach allows us to remain agile, accountable, and focused on long-term value creation for all stakeholders.

ETHICAL BUSINESS PRACTICES

Integrity is at the core of our governance philosophy. Our Global Code of Conduct (GCC) sets clear expectations for ethical behavior, anti-corruption, and compliance, and is reinforced through regular training and a 24/7 reporting hotline. We maintain a strict non-retaliation policy and encourage open dialogue at all levels of the organization. Supplier partners are required to adhere to our Supplier Code of Conduct, which aligns with international human rights and labor standards including the United Nations Guiding Principles of Business and Human Rights, the International Bill of Human Rights, and the principles concerning fundamental rights set out in the International Labor Organization’s Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work.

DATA PRIVACY AND CYBERSECURITY

Protecting the data of our customers, employees, and partners is a top priority. We provide regular cybersecurity and privacy training, conduct third-party audits, and perform incident response exercises to maintain a resilient and compliant technology environment. The Audit Committee receives quarterly updates on our information security posture and oversees the implementation of best practices.

ABOUT THIS REPORT

Our 2024 Sustainability report highlights the progress we’ve made together with our teams, supplier partners, and customers to operate a business with an intended positive impact on the world. You’ll discover many updates, including expanded greenhouse gas goals and progress toward the sustainability goals outlined in our previous report. In addition, we delve into the ways we support our Berliners and the communities we operate in.

This report encompasses our data and progress across the Americas and Europe, Middle East, and Africa (“EMEA”) regions. Unless stated otherwise, all our public commitments, such as those related to greenhouse gas emissions and renewable energy procurements, apply to our Americas and EMEA regions. We plan to expand our commitments to include our Asia Pacific (“APAC”) regions, and we’ll share progress updates in future reports.

We aligned this ESG report with the Global Reporting Initiative (“GRI”) and the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (“SASB”) and have included the results from last year’s materiality assessment, which follows our previous assessment from 2021. We also initiated our climate risk assessment in line with the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (“TCFD”) framework, which has informed our future strategy.

By utilizing these reporting standards, we strive for increased transparency through measurable progress and documented outcomes. Our 2024 Sustainability Report covers our work during the 2024 calendar year unless otherwise noted. For more information or to share comments, contact us at sustainability@berlinpackaging.com.

These forward-looking statements generally

are expectations and assumptions with respect to the anticipated performance and goals of Berlin Packaging L.L.C. (“Berlin”) and its affiliates. Such forward-looking statements are subject to risks and uncertainties that may cause actual results to differ materially. A number of our ESG goals may depend on the adoption of certain behaviors and activities by third parties, including our customers and partners. If those parties do not adopt certain behaviors or activities, we may not be able to meet some goals. Certain claims regarding our products and projects, and the ability of those products, projects, and funding efforts to affect third parties’ sustainability efforts; however, there can be no guarantee that our products, projects, or funding efforts will have the effects we anticipate or intend. We undertake no obligation to update or revise publicly any forwardlooking statements, whether because of new information, future events, or otherwise.

ESG MATERIALITY

This year, we advanced our ESG materiality approach to ensure our strategy is sharply focused on the topics that drive the most significant value for our business and stakeholders. Building on the comprehensive global impact assessment and robust stakeholder engagement that shaped our previous cycles, we further refined our priorities to address the rapidly evolving ESG landscape and align with our long-term business objectives. This year, following careful validation with senior leadership, we determined that industrial relations and social dialogue, water management, biodiversity preservation, and engagement with local communities are not material for this reporting cycle. By concentrating on the most material issues, we are able to allocate resources where they have the greatest impact, strengthen our ESG performance, and reinforce Berlin Packaging’s role as a responsible industry leader in a dynamic market environment.
