Once upon a time, there lived a monkey in a berry tree beside the river. One day a crocodile came down the river. He saw the monkey on the tree and asked for some juicy berries.
From that day onwards,they becameclose friends.The crocodile would come backevery dayto have berrieswith the monkey. They hadfun together.Sometimesthe monkey would sit on the crocodile’s backand go aroundthe river.
Once the crocodileasked the monkey to get him some berries for his wife. When his wife tasted the berries, she grew curious and told the crocodilethat if the berries the monkeygave tastes so good, imagine the taste of the monkey’s heart. She asked the crocodileto invite the monkey for lunch at their place so that she can eat the monkey’s heart.
The next day the crocodile asked the monkey to sit on his back and they travelled to the other side of the riverbank. As they reached the middle of the river,the crocodile told the monkeyabout his wife’s plan.
The smart monkey said that he had left his heart on the tree and had to go back to collect it. The foolish crocodiletookhim back to the tree. As they got back, the monkey jumped off the crocodiles back and climbed up the tree.
The Monkey’s quick thinking helped to save his life. Due to its stupidity,the crocodile lost a great friend, and sweet berries.
Moral of the story : Staying calm and thinking on your feet can help you get out of difficult situations.
