North Essex at a glance... The north of Essex borders Suffolk and Cambridgeshire along with miles of scenic coastline featuring traditional seaside resorts of Frinton-on-sea and Walton-onthe-Naze and Clacton Pier. Local produce doesn’t get much better with world renown Tiptree Jam and Mersea Oysters hailing from this area along with other much smaller scale vineyards and breweries. Mersea was recently voted one of the best places to live in the East by The Times due to its relaxing landscape and fresh air.

Colchester is the largest town in this region and has a rich history, it was Britain’s first city and is scattered with ancient artefacts and ruins, including roman walls, and a Norman era castle that houses a museum. However, this part of Essex is not stuck in the past, with fantastic links to London via train taking approximately 46 minutes and the Braintree Village Shopping Centre a specific outlet village with plenty of high street and upmarket brands.

Alternatively, the north of the county is abundant with small characteristic villages filled with history and charm, the market towns of Coggeshall, and Great Dunmow are attractions for those looking to escape the city life. We have several developments in this area from studio and 1 bed apartments at 140 High Street in Colchester to Maypole View in picturesque Thaxted.
