He possesses a variety of skills which make him a tough match-up for the opposition. Dowling averaged 10.5 points and 4.6 rebounds last year in his first year as a starter, and proved to be a threat to score from outside (39 percent from three), inside, or from the line (121 FTA). “Tommy has certainly been a big part of our success over the past two seasons,” stated Lawson.“He’s physically talented, highly skilled, unselfish and smart. He’s also a very committed and competitive defender and rebounder. However, most people outside our program probably don’t know what we know, that he is capable of more.” While Quinn may not put up eye-popping stats, he’s a classic “glue guy” that all successful teams have and does all the little things. His modest numbers last season, 7.6 points per game to along with 3.2 rebounds and 3.1 assists, belie his true value to the team. This is evidenced by the fact that he has started every game his first two years at Bentley and led the team in minutes last season at 32.9. “There’s a reason Mike led us in minutes last season. He’s a very good basketball player who understands and performs the small plays necessary for a team to win,” commented Lawson. “He’s also an extremely dependable and resilient worker who day in and day out

sets the kind of tone that teammates both respect and follow. He’s highly committed, competitive, unselfish, tough and disciplined.” Tracey is the team’s top returning forward. He was Bentley’s first man off the bench last season, averaging 26.8 minutes per game. His averages of 12.7 points (third on the team) and 6.5 rebounds (first on the team), were among the best in the conference for bench players. Tracey is also a solid shooter, shooting 53.0 percent from the field last season and 42.5 percent from three-point range. He’s expected to start this season, and if he can maintain or improve upon his numbers in an increased role, he should emerge as one of the NE-10’s top players. “Brian’s a really a unique player who combines athleticism, a nose for the ball, excellent hands and several high percentage ways to score,” said Lawson.“Because of this, Brian fits in perfect with our guard play and is a very difficult match up for most forwards to keep up with. He’s also a big key to our defense and rebounding schemes as he’s our most experienced front court defender and an excellent rebounder on both backboards” The second player off of Lawson’s bench last season was Brandt, who averaged 16.5 minutes per game. A solid shooter from the floor (48.1 percent) last season and a good two-way player, he will be asked to take on a bigger role this season as a senior, much like Tracey.
