Netgear WiFi Range Extender User Manual Netgear extender setup boosts your existing internet network range and speed, delivering dual-band WiFi in every corner of the house. Client Link This LED light indicates the connection between computer/ laptop and Netgear signal booster (extender). Solid Green: - Best Connection Solid Amber: - Good Connection Solid Red: - Poor/ Worst Connection Off: - No Connection Power Solid Amber: - The Netgear device is booting. Solid Green: - The Netgear device is powered on. Off: - The Netgear device is powered off.


WPS Solid Green: - The WiFi security on your device is enabled. Blinking Green: - The WiFi-Protected Setup (WPS) connection of your device is in progress. Off: - The WiFi security on your device is disabled. Installation Process of Netgear WiFi Booster First of all, you have to make sure that the Netgear range extender is placed within the range of your existing WiFi router and is plugged in properly. After that, connect both your devices with each other physically and properly via Ethernet cable. Now, take a smart device (computer or laptop) and attach it with your Netgear WiFi booster (extender). Wait for few minutes for the Led light on your range extender as well as the router turns to solid green. In case it doesn’t, then push the power (on/off) button on your device once simultaneously.

Connect to an Existing WiFi Network If you want to extend the range of your existing WiFi network, then you have to connect your Netgear range expander (extender) to your main WiFi network using WPS. Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) allows you to join a safe and secure WiFi network without typing the network name (SSID) and password (passphrase). To use WPS to connect the Netgear device to your main WiFi router: 

First of all, on the side panel of your Netgear device, press the WPS button.

When the WPS LED on your device blinks within a couple of minutes, press the WPS button on your router as well.

If your existing router supports 5GHz band, then it is recommended to repeat the steps I and 2.

After that, find the new extender’s WiFi network name on your computer or laptop.

Once done, connect it (computer or a laptop) to the new extender network.


You have to use the same WiFi password (security key) that you are using for your main WiFi router.

Unplug the WiFi range extender and move it to your intend location.

Plug in the Netgear device into an electrical outlet and wait for its power lights turn to solid green.

Connect your Netgear device using Web browser setup 

Use a relevant and up-to-date web browser for Netgear extender login to set up its WiFi connection with your main WiFi router.

On a computer or laptop use a WiFi network manager to find and connect to Netgear_ext.

After that, launch a web browser and into the address bar field, type www.mywifiext.net or simple mywifiext.

When the Netgear extender setup screen displays you have to click on the new extender setup button.


Now, on the create account screen complete the fields and hit on the next button.

After that, select your country or region from the regional settings (when prompt) and hit the next button.

Click on the WiFi range extender button and select a WiFi network you wish to extend. Once done, click on next.

Now, in the password field, type the existing WiFi network password and click the Next.

Set the SSID and password for your new extender WiFi network and click the Next.

Also, make sure that your client device is connected successfully before you click on Continue.

When a message displays confirming that the extender is connected to the new extender WiFi network click on Next.

When the registration screen displays, complete the registration fields and click on finish.

Now, unplug the range extender and move it to a new location closer to the area with a poor WiFi signal (dead zone/ blind spot).
