Talk to your customers before asking them to buy this Christmas
How many emails do you get from companies you haven’t heard from all year, letting you know what you can buy from them for Christmas?
Are you one of those companies who sends them? If you sell all year round, it’s best to contact your customers all year round.
It keeps them interested, builds a relationship and creates loyalty, turning them from a one-off shopper into a regular buyer, a brand ambassador telling others, or someone who comes back for more.
Customers aren’t just for Christmas!
Start the warm-up to Christmas now – especially if you haven’t spoken to your customers all year.
Do not go straight in with a ‘buy this!’ vibe. Remind them who you are, what you do, how you started up and what you’ve been up to, especially if you’ve been out there doing good in the community or with charities. Then make sure you say the right thing to the right people.
Don’t send product information to someone who’s already bought it - it’s irrelevant and shows you don’t know them or value their purchase. Filter the customer data to avoid this!
Who uses your products / services and why?
What problem do you solve or make better? Each target audience will need different messaging – don’t go general, go targeted. Finally, make the sale easy – once they’re over the line, they want an easy sale. Are your sales channels clunky? Un-clunk them to keep all of your conversions and protect your ROI.
