Wellbeing within the Workplace
The majority of people spend more time at work than at home and therefore their wellbeing within the workplace is pivotal.
As an employer, it
is our duty of care to ensure that our workforce are in a good place mentally. If you notice that your employee’s mood may be changing, and they are not being as efficient in their duties or if they are not as focused on their jobs.
Maybe they are taking time off when previously their attendance record was impeccable. I implore you to consider your plan of action before going in with rage and frustration, it could be that they are just bored with their job role and need motivating, or it could be something which runs far deeper than that.
All businesses look to make financial gain understandably, but at what cost? With the aftermath of Covid and the stress it has had on our mental health, it is not surprising that so many are now suffering with issues and concerns which they have previously not experienced. This in turn will impact on their efficiency at work. If you see an employee struggling and becoming introverted, be kind and show compassion. It could be something as simple as they are struggling with a work-related issue, or it could run deeper. As a Life therapist I can recognise when somebody is just generally unhappy or if it runs to a far deeper level.
What was not considered during the lockdowns was how it would impact on individual’s mindset. It was prudent for the government to want everybody to stay at home to contain the spread of the virus, but this in turn has affected the mentality of people’s outlook. In hindsight, who would have thought that the conformity of staying in the secure surroundings of your own home would have been so detrimental.
My workload has increased exponentially in the past few months, and this is a telling sign that peoples mental health is suffering. However, I would implore anybody who is finding that they are just not able to move forward with life and are experiencing daily struggles to please get in contact and take advantage of my skills and have a FREE Life therapy session which will cost you nothing financially but could help you move forward with your life and save your sanity.
