The Verdict is In Last month Channel launched the 1st Buy Local campaign, an initiative aimed at supporting our local businesses and all the good things that are happening here on the Shore. This month’s Eating Out Takapuna feature restaurant epitomises that ethic. Verdict Café and Restaurant has only been open for four months but in that time has shown it truly is one of the good things happening here on the Shore that we should be supporting. Located in the old court building at 12 Huron Street, Verdict has taken that location and run with it as a theme, obviously evidenced in its name, but also in its menu and iconography. The menu is simple, traditional, but with a slight twist or something original in each dish that makes them special. It helps that everything is baked and made on site, which is great for the cakes, slices and daytime café culture that Verdict caters too. It’s even better for the burgers, which are made on freshly baked focaccia bread. For example, the Al Capone gourmet burger is made with one of those beautiful focaccia’s, topped with seared scotch fillet, balsamic beetroots,
