Building Located! In October, we were able to begin renting a building in South Quito where we hope to begin our ministry here in Ecuador. It is truly amazing how the Lord directed us to this specific building. For several weeks, I had been looking for buildings in South Quito that would be suitable for our future ministry. I found one building that looked promising; however, after viewing the inside I quickly determined that it would not be adequate for the ministries that we were planning to start. Then, before heading back home, the Lord showed me a small, storefront building for rent in a good location. I talked with the owner and told her what we wanted to do with the building. She agreed to let us rent the building, and the rent is actually less than the first building I had looked at! We are now working at making this building into a church building. We have to paint the walls, build pews, and make signs for our new building. While there is still a lot of work to be done, we are certainly glad to be able to take these first steps in starting the ministries that the Lord has shown us.

Hospital Ministry Update In October, I was able to begin the Hospital Ministry I mentioned in our previous prayer letter. The lady in charge of social work at the hospital informed me that there were two families that had loved ones in Intensive Care that could use a hot lunch plate. So, Kayla cooked the meals, and I brought them to the hospital the next day. While I did not have much time to talk with the families, I was able to give them each a copy of John and Romans as well as a Gospel tract. Because this hospital will only call me when there is a family in need of a hot meal, I will begin contacting some of the other hospitals here in Quito to see if I can minister more frequently in this area in the future.

Prayers Needed . . . As we endeavor to start the ministries that the Lord has shown us, we realize that we are in need of prayer now more than ever. At times we feel overwhelmed with the knowledge that all of what we will be doing here will be done in a language that is still very foreign to us. Please pray with us as we hope to start the King’s Kids ministry and begin holding church services in South Quito in January. Pray that the Lord will give us the right words to say as we prepare lessons to evangelize the lost and disciple the saved. Thank you for your faithful prayers and support. God bless.
