Gerald Anderson Lawson is an African American engineer. Jerry was born December 1, 1940, in Brooklyn, New York. At the time, there were few African Americans that engineered in the electronic industry. In 1970 he directed the engineering and marketing for a company that made video game consoles.

His father was a physicist so, Jerry always knew that he wanted to be a scientist. In his early life, he would repair objects such as walkie-talkies. He started his career off making an arcade machine called "Demolition Derby" in his garage. His game was put in a list of “1001 video games you must play before you die.” He pioneered the creation of the Fair-child Channel F console, a home video game console that was released in 1976 and specifically designed to use interchangeable game cartridges for the first time. These consoles could hold one cartridge at a time, with each cartridge game. There were 26 games on the console. Many of Lawson’s inventions were an influence on the Atari consoles. Before the Fair-child, consumers could only play the games that were built into their console. He created the color bar generator that was used for testing early color TVs, which we can still see today. what is now Summit Argo, Illinois. He was the youngest child of Iberia and Francis Hampton. One of Fred’s friends, Emmett Till, whom his mother had baby-sat; was a victim of racial violence. Emmett was a teenager visiting family in Mississippi when he was lynched by white men. This happened in 1955 when Fred was only seven years old.

Frank S. Greene was born October 19, 1938, in Washington, D.C. On December 26, 2009, Greene passed away. He will be remembered as a parent, an educator, a scientist, a mentor and an entrepreneur.

Dr. Frank S. Greene, Jr., was one of the first African-American pioneering technologists of Silicon Valley in California. He obtained his bachelor's and master’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Greene served four years in the U.S Airforce and became an air force captain. As a technology professor, he focused on developing high-speed semiconductor computer memory systems. He won a patent for the fastest chip design of his time. Greene also taught electrical engineering and computer science at five universities.
Jerry Lawson developed the breakthrough invention, the gaming cartridge and first gaming system with a gaming cartridge slot to go along with it. His inventions can even be an influence on so many up-and-coming creators. He proves that even Black people can make a difference. He changed the game!
He was raised in a segregated society and part of the Civil Right Movement. As a venture capitalist, Greene founded a firm called New Vista Capital that supported people from vulnerable or socially excluded groups. He also founded two software companies. Technology Development Corporation and ZeroOne Systems Inc.
In conclusion, he dedicated his career to improving the representation of AfricanAmericans in technology that would otherwise have been excluded for a color barrier.

Fred fought against racial violence because of everything he did in his short life. He organized the Rainbow Coalition that united the Black, White, Latinx, and Asian Chicago residents against police brutality. He organized free lunch programs for children and negotiated peace among many gangs in Chicago. He was also a big part of the civil rights movement.


In the evening on December 3, William O'Neal, an FBI agent, slipped a strong sleeping pill into Fred’s drink without his knowledge. The next day, the FBI stormed Fred’s house and opened find Fred sleeping with his nine-month pregnant fiancée Deborah Johnson. Once again, the police opened fire. Fred was alive, but severely injured. When the police discovered he was still moving they shot Fred twice in the head, killing him. The remaining panthers were arrested for attempted murder, armed violence, and many more weapon charges. The police officers used nail holes in the door as evidence that

& 1930s which was a combination of jazz and blues roots for classical R&B music, In the 1944s Louis Jordan, bandleader and saxophonists made a hit song called "Is You Is or Is You Ain't My Baby" and had some elements that would describe R&B like riffs, shuffle rhythm, short horn patterns, and boogie-woogie bass lines. Then Ray Charles, an artist and a performer in the late 1950s and 1960s. Charles introduced a style of music called "soul" which was a blend of jazz, gospel music and the blues which got him many worldwide fans due to making this new type of genre.
In the 2000s R&B was at its peak with the rise of hip hop music. In black community which transformed R&B. A lot of R&B artists were African Americans which was distinctive within

Jackson were highly influential due to their appearance in the music industry. Beyoncé and Michael Jackson prepared this generation with this type of African American genre with some popular types of hip-hop and R&B. Present day hip-hop could be still seen as hip-hop from the 2000s
Now R&B is popular with artists such as: Sza, The Weeknd, Jhené Aiko , H.E.R and Beyoncé. These artist have a big following and have broken multiple charts with some big hits you would hear everywhere. But people have stated that R&B is ¨ dead ¨ or at its lowest point and some people say that these artists don't sing the genre as well as those before, but people have different opinions and points about music taste and that is

January 16, 1976. In Aaliyah's early life, she sang in choirs and churches, slowly beginning her music career. In 1994, at the age of 14 she released her very first album, “Back and Forth” was a top 5 hit on the billboard Hot 100 and No.1 R&B song. In 1996, Aaliyah decided to leave Jive Records to join Atlantic Records. She worked with record producers Timberland and Missy Elliott to work on her second album, “One in a Million”. This album was released on August 13, 1996. This album got positive reviews from the community and raised the expectations of Aaliyah, this didn’t matter though because no one would be disappointed by Aaliyah’s music.
Even though Aaliyah was mostly famous from music, she also did drama. She starred in “Romeo Must Die” and played a couple who fell in love despite their warring families. She was an amazing actor and the Film. Ended up making $18.6 million in its first weekend. She also starred in “Queen of the damned”. A vampire thriller movie in the early 2000s.



Unfortunately, on August 25, 2001, Aaliyah passed away. Passengers were impatient because the plane was supposed to arrive earlier but ended up being delayed. Because passengers were impatient, despite the pilot constantly telling them there was no room for a safe flight, they constantly fought, and this caused the engine to not run properly. Before Aaliyah got on the plane, she had said that she didn’t feel good about going on but was forced to go on anyway, causing her death.
Aaliyah's private funeral was held on August 31, 2001. She was placed in a silver casket and after, Aaliyah's brother delivered the eulogy and said his sister gave his strength, saying “Aaliyah, you left, but I'll see you always next to me and I can see you smiling through the sunshine. When our life is over, our book is done. I hope God keeps me strong until I see her again.” He then read the other victims names out and concluded to give them prayers too. May Aaliyah
