One Dead After Three-Alarm Structure Fire in Brooklyn
Brooklyn, NY - Firefighters were dispatched to Lincoln Ave. and McKinley Ave. on November 1st for reports of a structure fire. Upon arrival, units found a three-story, vacant dwelling that was well involved, with fire extending to Exposure-2. A third-alarm was requested. Four lines were used to knock down the fire, as well as two tower ladders and one deck gun. The top floor of the fire building collapsed and one civilian's body was later found, having perished in the fire.

Congratulations to all FDNY members who participated in November 3rd's 2016 FDNY Cook-Off, held at the New York City Fire Museum! Thomas Peccia from Ladder-2 was awarded the title of "Best FDNY Chef," while Peter Acton of Engine-79 was awarded second place. Nick Foley of Ladder-30 was awarded third place. All proceeds from the cook-off benefit the Museum’s fire safety education programs.

Dog Rescued From Two-Alarm House Fire Queens, NY - On October 28th, firefighters responded to Beach 68th Street and Elizabeth Ave. for reports of a structure fire. Upon arrival, units found fire on the second and third floors as well as in the attic of a large house. A second-alarm was called. A dog was pulled out of the building and expected to be okay. Four lines and one tower were used to knock the fire down.
Diesel Fuel Leak Causes Hazmat in Queens Queens, NY - Crews responded to 71st St. and Myrtle Ave. on November 2nd for reports of a Hazmat incident. Upon arrival, 50-gallons of diesel fuel was found leaking from a truck. Units put absorbent down to clean up the fuel.
