DIPROPYLENE GLYCOL BUTOXY ETHER (29911-28-2) Inhalation - Acute Exposure DIPROPYLENE GLYCOL BUTOXY ETHER: May cause irritation. Inhalation - Chronic Exposure DIPROPYLENE GLYCOL BUTOXY ETHER: Nose-only exposure of rats to 0, 20, and 40 ppm test material for 6 hours/day for 2 weeks resulted in no adverse effects. Skin Contact - Acute Exposure DIPROPYLENE GLYCOL BUTOXY ETHER: May cause irritation. Skin Contact - Chronic Exposure DIPROPYLENE GLYCOL BUTOXY ETHER: Repeated application for 10 to 14 days on rabbit skin resulted in very slight irritation. No sensitization was seen. Studies in rats given 0, 0.1, 0.3, and 1.0 ml/kg test material for 5 days/week for 13 weeks, produced erythema, edema, scaliness wounds, and encrustations at the application sites in all dose groups. Body weight depression was observed in the two highest dose groups. Slight increase in liver weights were seen in the highest dose group. No histopathological toxicity was seen. The observable effects level was 0.1 mL/kg (91 mg/kg/day). Eye Contact - Acute Exposure DIPROPYLENE GLYCOL BUTOXY ETHER: May cause irritation. Eye Contact - Chronic Exposure DIPROPYLENE GLYCOL BUTOXY ETHER: Application for 5 days to rabbit eyes, produced conjunctival irritation. More recent studies have found evidence on transient corneal effects and no conjunctival irritation. Ingestion - Acute Exposure DIPROPYLENE GLYCOL BUTOXY ETHER: The LD50 reported in rats was 1620 mL/kg. Ingestion - Chronic Exposure DIPROPYLENE GLYCOL BUTOXY ETHER: Rats treated with 0, 200, 450, or 1000 mg/kg/day for 13 weeks resulted in slight decreases in body and liver weights in the high dose group. The no observable effects level was 200 mg/kg.
