BARINGS/UNC CHARLOTTE ECONOMIC FORECAST

Ex Ed provides integrated learning solutions for senior leaders and organizations through design, delivery and management of impactful programming to develop talent and deliver results.
HIGHLIGHT Working with the Belk College of Business, Executive Education responded to micro-learning trends by launching short format programs called Ex Ed Talks. An introductory talk took place on March 2, 2017 during the Alumni Coffee before the Barings/UNC Charlotte Economic Forecast and featured Professor of Finance Emeritus Ben Nunnally. Dr. Nunnally spoke on the importance of using financial analysis to inform strategic business decisions. Ex Ed delivered 6 interdisciplinary immersion programs to more than 100 participants from diverse backgrounds.
HIGHLIGHT The September 2016 two-day open enrollment program “Leveraging Your Leadership,” taught by CLAS professor Jaime Bochantin, gave 20 participants resources and tools to improve team building expertise, uncover keys to motivation and develop their talent management skills.
Under the direction of Dr. John Connaughton, the Barings/UNC Charlotte Economic Forecast has provided invaluable economic data for North Carolina since 1981. Barings joined the Economic Forecast as a sponsor in 2010. The Belk College of Business hosts this quarterly luncheon and press conference for the business community and the media. Dr. Connaughton is considered one of the top economists in North Carolina. He joined the UNC Charlotte faculty in 1978 and has served as director of the quarterly Barings/UNC Charlotte Economic Forecast since 1981. Dr. Connaughton also covers national and international economic issues including employment, energy, trade and government spending. Date

old regional consumer services organization in preparing their next generation of leaders. The company’s Executive Leadership Development Program began in February 2017 and brought together faculty from the departments of Communications Studies, Marketing and Management for 5 modules delivered to more than 30 participants per module.
