this is what we did with this cable and created a high-end multipair which probably should be the best available on the market today. It is the multipair for the ambitious studio professional who dislikes to compromise on linearity and shielding. For the perfect sound the two opposite wires (“crossover“) are paired. That way we achieve an incredibly low capacitive value of approx. 37 pF wire/wire, and thus an almost loss-free transmission even with excess distances. When connected crosswise the SC-PEGASUS is even digital-capable (AES/ EBU 110 Ω)! Our tight stranding technique, optimised for linearity and the fine 0.05 mm OFC copper litz wires ensure a homogenous, pure sound image, high bending cycles and a long life. The SC-PEGASUS has a shielding that goes far beyond the demands normally put on a high-end multipair. It was equipped with an overall screen plus an individual screen per channel, each with 100 % optical coverage. The overall screen is made of a Cu cross mesh and the channel screens of a helical copper mesh with an additional conductive AL foil. Thus the SC-PEGASUS is not only protected against external interferences, but the wire pairs are also perfectly separated and shielded against each other. With the SC-PEGASUS you are purchasing the state-of-the-art on the cable market for years to come, and you can be sure that from now on you will only have to take care of your music and your mix.

We were very surprised at the high capacitive values of the crossover multipairs from other makers and that a crosswise connection did not yield the values to be expected from a studio multipair. Even a crossover value of 70 pF (wire/ wire) is worse than that of a budget SOMMER CABLE audio multicore (standard 45/65 pF wire/wire with SC-Planet FMC, SC-Quantum Highflex, SC-Mistral etc.). So it was obvious that we should also „crossbreed“ our cables… lo and behold!
