Beefmaster Advancer Program Animals Eligible for Registration in the Beefmaster Advancer Program Beefmaster Advancer Program - Animals of 50% or more Registered Beefmaster breeding and 50% or less of other Registered and DNA genotyped non-Beefmaster Beef cattle breeding. These animals may be certified in BBU provided they are produced from breeding of one of the following: • Known registered Beefmaster sire mated to a DNA genotyped*, registered dam from another breed association. • Known registered Beefmaster dam mated to a DNA genotyped*, registered sire from another breed association. • A known progeny of a 50% - 87.50% Beefmaster Advancer and a known registered Beefmaster sire or dam. • Known progeny from animals recorded in the Beefmaster Advancer Program that meet all Association requirements for registration other than those specified under the bullets above. Animals Eligible for Beefmaster Advancer Certification • ‘Half-Blood’ Cattle - Animals that are 1/2 Registered Beefmaster and 1/2 Registered and DNA genotyped* non-Beefmaster Beef breeding. • ‘Three-Quarter Blood’ Cattle - Animals that are 3/4 Beefmaster Advancer breeding and 1/4 Registered Beefmaster breeding. • ‘Seven-Eighths Blood’ Cattle - Animals that are 7/8 Beefmaster Advancer breeding and 1/8 Registered Beefmaster breeding. Animals Eligible for Beefmaster Registration • ‘Purebred’ Beefmaster Cattle - These animals are 15/16 (93.75%) or more Registered breeding. Animals eligible for recording in the Beefmaster Advancer Program must come from parents that are enrolled in the BBU Whole Herd Reporting Program. All animals defined in the Animals Eligible for Beefmaster Advancer Certification section may be certified by the Association but none such shall ever become registered Beefmaster animals. *All non-Beefmaster animals must have a sample (semen, blood, hair follicle) on file with MMI Genomics or another recognized genomics company with a complete DNA genotype.
