ABOUT ME Based in Derbyshire, England, I’m an alternative wedding photographer specialising in weddings for couples that want to do things a bit differently. Perhaps planning a wedding that really shows off their individuality, their personalities and tastes.

I like to capture the day and tell its story through candid, reportage, natural images I live with my boyfriend and our two little bunnies, Daisy and Buttercup. When I’m not off playing with my camera I like to do a bit of drawing (I also work as a freelance artist) listen to some of our records, watch films, or go into the Derbyshire countryside for some exploring with the mister. I like to bake but I’m not too great at it. I have a pretty big collection of teas, from cinnamon and spiced apple to vanilla or strawberry. There’s not much better than just being able to sit down with a cup pa and some cake (biscuits will do if there’s no cake in). I’m a big fan of 1940s/1950s style, and love looking through old photographs in vintage shops in the area. I am not a loud in your face person at all and my style is very informal and relaxed. I like to capture the day and tell its story through candid, reportage, natural images with a limited amount of posed group shots. I like to capture the beauty in the natural moments.

“To have Lu’s dad with us was amazing, and to have the beautiful pictures with Lu and her dad is even more amazing and like the others something we can treasure forever. Thank you so much again, you are really talented and your passion really shows in what you do…we couldn’t have dreamed for anything more.” - Lucy and Adam, Derbyshire

ENGAGEMENT SHOOTS What is an engagement shoot?

Why do people have them?

Engagement or ‘pre-wedding’ shoots are a shoot that you have with your partner at some point before the wedding. They can take place at a variety of locations, from your home to your favourite spot or where you first met. I’ll lead the day and ensure we get some really beautiful images of the two of you together but it is a very informal and laid-back day. They normally take 2-3 hours.

They are a great opportunity to get used to being in front of the camera before the big day and to help get over any nerves you may have. It also gives us a chance to spend some time together before the wedding. Of course it’s also a fun day to get some more informal but beautiful images of the two of you together, at a location of your choice, to look back on in years to come with happy memories!

“Oh my life – I am grinning from ear to ear! They are amazing! Such a gorgeous record of the day. Thank you so much! There are some in there that took my breath away. The super candid ones. So so lovely. You are such a wonderful talented photographer. The shots are absolutely incredible, they really captured the emotion of the day. I will never tire of looking at our photos – thank you so much for capturing all the joy… you’re amazing xxx” – Dee and Stu, Sheffield

Will you be visiting my wedding venue in advance? I feel that visiting a venue is only necessary if you do a lot of set up staged shots, which is the opposite to how I work. I much prefer to capture the day naturally as it unfolds. I do however like to arrive a little early on the day to have a scout of the venue and get a feel for it.

Do you shoot in colour and black and white? I shoot digitally, so all of the images are captured in colour. However, during the editing I will choose to .process certain photographs into black and white if I feel it better suits the content and adds to the image. It may also be necessary to process some images in black and white if lighting was an issue at the time and it works stronger as a final photograph in black and white. The choice of which images are edited in colour and which are in black and white is at my discretion.

FAQ request that this list is kept to a reasonable length so that they do not take up a large amount of time on your day. I also completely understand that there may be certain moments during the day that you particularly want capturing, most of these will be standard aims of mine at any wedding and I will try my best to capture them for you. If you are wishing to provide a photographer with a long specific list of shots I may not be the right photographer for you.

Who has the rights to our photographs? The rights to your images remain with the photographer. The client has the right to use their images for personal use only, including printing personal copies, this does not include the right of distribution, for example to pass the images on to other wedding suppliers. Please request that other wedding professionals (eg florsits, make up artists) contact your photographer directly if they are wishing to have any images to use themselves.

Do you expect to be fed on the wedding day? If I am working 5 hours or more on your wedding day, a pescatarian meal would be much appreciated. If there is an issue with supplying this please let me know beforehand.

Will there be an online gallery to order prints from? Yes! Your wedding photos will be hosted with online gallery ‘zenfolio’, through them you and your guests will be able to order prints in various sizes.

How many photos we receive? For a full day (up to 9 hours) you can expect to receive at least 400 fully edited final images!

Can I give you a list of specific shots I want? I like to capture the day as naturally as possible so that you can look back on your wedding photographs and remember it just as it was. If too much time is spent on the set up shots it leaves less time to capture the lovely natural moments that may be happening elsewhere. I am of course happy to photograph specific group shots, I would just

How long after the wedding will I receive my photos? I ask my clients to allow up to 6 weeks for the editing of their images. It may not take this long, but this is my estimated delivery window for busy periods such as late summer.

IF YOU HAVE ANY FURTHER QUESTIONS PLEASE DON’T HESITATE TO GET IN TOUCH.

“From the moment you arrived at my hotel room to our first dance, you honestly felt more like a friend and guest than our photographer! Thank again for fixing my hair :) You managed to capture moments that we never would have seen and it’s lovely to sit reliving our day every time we look at your photographs.” - Katie and Tim
