Poster Printed posters with inspirational quotes or core values of the campaign will be displayed to increase self worth and let people know that people are around to help. They will say phrases such as “YOUR life matters” or “Let me know if you need anything” . These posters will be displayed around public areas such as the bus and trains statons as wells as billboards. The placement of these advertisment were strategised for people as a mass on daily basis and a wide range of people with various ages. The simplisity and colours are to capture the audience to read.

Merchandise For the campaign, we created shirts and tote bags for people to demonstrate their support. These feature our logo or floral patterning that was designed as a tattoo for a victim of self harm. Anyone can purchase these items to provide funding to cover the activities and tattoo costs. A shirt will cost $20 and a bag will cost $510.

Sponsorship Beauty is Pain partnered with band-aid as it could allow people to support our campaign even if they were unwilling to purchase a bag or shirt. Young children particularly may want to support older siblings and purchase a “pretty bandage” to help stop their sibling’s suffering. Band-aids are considered a tool humans use to heal and it’s possible that self harm victims may use one of the band-aids without prior knowledge of our campaign and investigate further. This could potentially lead to them reaching out for help.

Social Media Because depression and self harm are prominent in the teenage and adolescent years, social media is key to the success of this campaign. Facebook and events set up through this platform have the ability to reach a very broad audience and lots of interaction with posts. Instagram is also vital to this campaign as we rely on success stories and victims interacting with our solutions. People want to be able to see the tattoos others are getting over their scars for inspiration for their own and Instagram is the perfect platform to share these images.

Website Using the program pencil project and various sources online who provided free mockups led to create a website that was simplistic and modern looking. The website is the source of information and a way for the consumers to communicate and learn based from social medias and the videos.

Video Our typographic video does not focus directly on self harm but rather one of the major risks of beginning this self destructive behavior. This is because a video purely based on self harm could become too graphic and victims may find it too emotionally draining to watch. Depression is a mental illness that affects a plethora of people and this video aims to show a beacon of hope for these victims and that Beauty is Pain is able to help them heal and move on with their lives.
