ENVIRONMENT & SUSTAINABILITY POLICY
PURPOSE
To set out the principles Beaumont Tiles follow to reduce our impact on the environment and to adopt practices that use resources sustainably
SCOPE
This Policy applies to all Beaumont Tiles’ facilities and processes encompassing; Team Members, warehouses, offices and stores. The Policy provides the framework for compliance to Wesfarmers, Bunnings Group, legislative and government requirements.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The CEO is responsible for setting the strategic direction for the business and providing leadership, resources and provisions to support the Environment & Sustainability Policy.
The Quality, Safety, Health and Environment Manager is responsible for maintaining, monitoring and facilitating the improvement of the Environmental performance of the business.
Management are responsible for the implementation, compliance of and decisions affecting the Environment & Sustainability Policy. They must lead and consult Team Members, provide resources and be proactive to ensure the policy principles are met.
All Team Members are responsible for complying with Beaumont Tiles’ Policies and Procedures.
DEFINITIONS
Continuous Improvement – The ongoing and continual effort to improve the environmental impact of products, services and processes.
Sustainability – Meeting our own needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.
3Rs – The hierarchy methods for reducing the quantity of waste produced; Reduce, Reuse & Recycle.
Product life cycle – The product path from processing of the raw materials, manufacturing, distribution, use, recycling to final disposal.

3. Implementing procedures to effectively manage energy use of all facilities, equipment and modes of travel.
4. Responsibly procuring ethically sourced product based on the assessment of its whole life cycle and using suppliers who comply with our Policy.
5. Innovating and sourcing more sustainable products.
6. Where reasonably practicable, sourcing packaging and consumables that are procured from sustainably managed sources, contains recycled material, is recyclable, or uses sustainable materials.
7. Reducing our emissions of greenhouse gases and increasing our use of clean energy technologies
8. Managing and monitoring energy consumption with an aim to reduce usage in alignment with our commitment to sourcing 100 per cent renewable electricity by 2025 to help achieve our target of net zero Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030.
9. Ensuring new constructions or major renovations of facilities meet relevant energy performance standards.
10. Adopting the 3Rs to reduce the quantity of office, building & product waste produced.
11. Providing Team Members with adequate training and awareness education needed to comply with the Policy.
12. Establishing, communicating and reporting on lead and lag indicator, driving improvement in our environment performance.
13. Ensuring our leaders understand and implement their responsibilities for maintaining an environmentally friendly and sustainable business.
14. Continually expanding awareness and knowledge on our environmental impact and keeping up to date with changes in legislation, government policies and global trends.
