System Support Project 1 4 3 This course provides an opportunity to complete a significant support project with minimal instructor assistance. Emphasis is placed on written and oral communication skills, project definition, documentation, installation, testing, presentation, and user training. Database Concepts 2 3 3 This course introduces database design and creation using a DBMS product. Emphasis is placed on data dictionaries, normalization, data integrity, data modeling, and creation of simple tables, queries, reports, and forms. Upon completion, students should be able to design and implement normalized database structures by creating simple database tables, queries, reports, and forms. Prerequisites:

Design Drafting DDF 211
Design Process I 1 6 4 This course emphasizes design processes for finished products. Topics include data collection from manuals and handbooks, efficient use of materials, design sketching, specifications, and vendor selection. Upon completion, students should be able to research and plan the design process for a finished product. Prerequisites:

Design Process II 1 6 4 This course stresses the integration of various drafting and design practices. Emphasis is placed on creation of an original design. Upon completion, students should be able to apply drafting and design procedures to a design project of their choosing. This course is a unique concentration requirement of the Drafting and Design concentration in the Mechanical Engineering program. Prerequisites:
